It may have been the main thing but I also suspect no one wanted to hear whispers of merger talks again. Saying that if 88m isn't playing ball at all, we could go up there till Newmarket hits its trigger point.
I probably agree though with what a few people have said, it's closer to SL standard than Dewsbury's (no disrespect to their ground in that) with a capacity just short of 10k so would do us fine in that way. From what I remember reading last year, they were happy to have us there as well. Don't know if that's changed since though. In the mess that we suddenly find ourselves, it probably makes the most logical choice.
I might well be proved wrong but as I understand it we are only gonna be allowed one season by the RL at Dewsbury. Would we be allowed more time if at Feath? We'd still be in the Wakefield area, and have a ground that on paper has greater capacity than BV? I don't know how criteria regarding corporate etc come into play but Feath does seem the better option for me. That's assuming they'd want us there. I do find that at times we're a little arrogant regarding Dewsbury and their ground, we talk of moving in as tenants then want to build new possibly temporary stands, it's not our ground to do such changes. Plus I can't see us affording the cost of a new all seating stand, didn't MC suggest that temporary stands were costly?
