The best defence against Carney is to keep him moving, put the ball behind him as often as possible and in his own half, he cant cause any damage (although he's ok coming out of defence) and he isn't capable of going the length of the field.
The exact opposite is true of both of our wingers (plus MCB and Tupou if they play). We showed last season that we can score from anywhere on the park and TJ will have them extremely worried, which may just give his centre some extra time and space.
Carney is still a beast from 15/20 metres out and it's important that we dont allow KR to feed him.
Schoey has obviously not looked at the Hull KR 1 - 17 : Adam Quinlan, Thomas Minns, Andrew Heffernan, Ryan Shaw, Danny McGuire, Nick Scruton, Shaun Lunt, Mose Masoe, Maurice Blair, James Greenwood, Ben Kavanagh, Lee Jewitt, James Donaldson, Danny Addy, Chris Clarkson . Add Carney to that and that is not a team to take lightly.
Quinlan is quick and a proven quality fullback, Minns is decent, Hefferman is a youngster who is highly rated, Shaw is a good finisher, Scruton is Solid, Lunt is a very good player, Masoe is huge, Geenwood , Jewitt and Donaldson are grafters who all defend well. I think Addy is injured for the season, Clarkson is a quality player. McGuire was good enough 5 months ago to carry Leeds through to win the GF.
Plus they have a world class head coach, a fanatic and large home crowd, definitely a game of scratch, dont think Schoey would be able to balance his book if he want offering Hull KR at plus 20.
Hull KR are certainly not a team to be taken lightly. First game back after promotion in front of a big home crowd i cant see anything but a tough game, especially if they get a roll on early doors and score a few points.
i think the bookies are nearer the mark with +4 than Schoeys +20
but i agree with him regarding players. I cannot see anyone else in that team who would displace a player in ours (just an opinion of course)

Oh give over Belly you can't have it both ways.
I don't take HKR lightly and they have a smattering of decent players but Schoey is right and you're wrong. Two or three at best would get in our team based on last years form and what other form can you base it on? HKR weren't even in SL.
You're far more right about the Coach and the crowd, they are much more of an issue, but then they were with a lot of teams we played last year AND WE GOT BY.
So long as our boys don't believe the hype and play with that mongrel spirit we might JUST pull off a win, but not by 20 points!
