I'll leave the team selection to CC who is marginally better than me at it What I will say, however, is that no matter who is picked their attitude must be right, and better than at any time this season because if we don't show total commitment for 80 minutes Cas' will win. We need to get in their faces from the first tackle to the last. No standing back waiting for them to run at us - get up to them and stop them in their tracks. We should make ourselves unbeatable at BV, backed by not the biggest set of supporters in SL, but surely one of the most vociferous and passionate!
Yes, we did hit them from the start, think it was 16-0 at half time. If I recall correctly, we had a chance to increase that at the start of the second half, when, I think it was Arundel though a long pass out wide, the move was on, but it was poorly executed, and then Cas went the length of the field to score. The momentum changed from that moment. Had the pass have stuck, I think we would have increased that lead.
Yes, we have to pick our best possible 17, play for 80, and not stand off Gale. If we can get into their faces, we can make them look ordinary.
They also picked up a few knocks against Leeds too, certainly Webster, and I think Roberts did too.
Really looking forward to this, Mrs EW coming along too.
Teah, I don't think our defensive line has been as consistently quick as last season and at other games this season. We seem to be standing back a bit times at times, I'm mainly taking in the 2nd halves here. Letting the opposition's offensive line get more organised than there was up halftime. We'd generally shut Wire down in the 1st half and dealt with their attacking players well. I'm sure CC will have said more of the same at 2nd half, but we instead got a few lazy plays that cost us. These are the sort of games where Fitness alone can beat a team that people would perceive is a better one on paper, especially when you go in up at HT just. There might be reasons for this that I'm not privy to but it's just an observation. I remember last year we'd have played for 100 minutes if it meant winning.
On to Cas, I'd be telling the likes of Ashurst, Randall, and Arona to try to shut Gale down as quickly and as often as possible. Go and watch tape of how he played against Hul and Sants last year to see what they were doing to keep him generally under wraps. Even though we lost by a drop goal, have a look at that tape and see what we dd right and what could be improved on.
Like I've said from the start of the Season we need to turn Bele Vue into a fortress this year and win plenty more than we lose hopefully.
need to win this one!!! is it possible with our squad. Compared to theirs?
I don't think we have played that well all year to be honest our wins whilst very good we have not performed where we were last year and it was more who we were playing.
I mentioned about us closing down Gale Shifty, as, in the past we haven't always closed down opposing play makers quick enough, allowing them the time to plot, and set plays up.
I recall last year, when we were at home, I think to Saints when Miller was injured, Williams and Finn were our halves, and they saw Williams as the main danger man. Every time he had the ball in an attacking position, there were always about 3 or 4 opposing players around him, limiting his options. To me this was a good example, of how to close down, and get in the face of play makers, putting them under pressure.

Exactly the same at Warrington, if the half’s have the time he had they’d be playing while there 50. Coaches and us speccies can tell em and shout at em until the cows come home, but it’s that between the rib cage wether or not they do it.
