Yes he did. Our player was crouching low to get out of the way. He could easily have passed it over him, our guy wasn't impeding him at all. He threw the ball downwards at the crouching player, not in the direction of his own player and that chump Mickalauskas pinged us. 6 points for Hudds. A number of other baffling decisions that I will need to watch on Trinity TV to see if it was as bad as it looked from the stand. I'd like to say it's a long time since I have seen a ref that bad but of course it's only a week

I think if/when we have this ref again we need to be taking the 2 at every opportunity. We got a couple of easy ones last night and turned them down (which at the time i thought was the right thing to do), BUT he slows the PTB down so much that it makes for low points scoring games and so anything that is on offer should be taken IMO.

Not only a slow PTB but he was playing the old 5 yard rule !

One offside given and that was against us.

Can’t remember exactly when it was but I’m sure when Brough put a kick up they fumbled it albeit backwards but another hudds player who was stood in front of the catcher picked the ball up?? Should have been a penalty however the ref waved play on

It was with about 5 minutes to go, I think and then in the same set of 6 their player messed up at the play-the-ball and rolled it forwards and MickeyMouseLess just waved play on....I thought he was bad last week but last night he was even worse...no wonder the players got frustrated

The ref's will have bad games but the one's i blame more is the other officials Linesmen, In-goal Judge's how can there constantly keep missing forward passes, Offsides, Ball reef outs it go's on.

All thou i've yet to watch it back that's the one that got me fuming, To me it was kicked through into they 10 yards goal-line where a giants player attempted to kick at it but it seemed to slice back near the on field post where a giant player picked it up and the ref played on, To me that's accidentally offside and a penalty to us and i think they got down to the other end and scored.

I'll stand corrected if i'm wrong but i'll watch it back once trinity tv have it on.

I am sure there was another similar incident. It was on our line in the second half. They were attacking and put in a little grubber kick. It came back off our player and was picked up by one of theirs. The farts player in question was miles in front of the kicker but the ref waved play on and wiped the tackle count.

Like others have said, you have to question the worth of the other officials, other than wave a flag when the ball is in touch, what else do they do

That was right in front of the ingoal touchie

The ref got it wrong but in goal touch judge should have helped the ref with that

With regard to the cynical tactic of deliberately playing the ball into a defender or passing the ball at him to gain a penalty.

I like Ben Thalers attitude in just telling the attacking team to get on with the game, as long as the defender has done his best to move out of the way.

The other way to deal with it is to penalise the attacking player for ungentlmanly conduct, again as long as the defender has done his best to move out of the way.

Doing this would soon see an end to it.

Exactly right FIL. The player that he played it to was at least 5m offside, and the ref was right there at the incident - diabolical refereeing!
