Reece has certainly come on in the last couple of seasons in both attack and defense. Since he has settled in at centre, howevr, he seems to have lost a bit of speed. As I recall he arrived from Hull with the tag of "Fastest man in Super League", and even took part in speed tests on the pitch, but he tends to be caught up with some what easier these days. Nevertheless, I would agree that he is probably the most improved member of the squad.

Can't remember which specific games, beagle, but I've noticed a couple of times in recent games that he has made the break but the opposition have caught up with him. Not a criticism of the lad, though, just an observation, bearing in mind he came as a "sprinter".

There’s no doubt he’s lost pace as he’s got a bigger and stronger. He was as fast as TJ when he first came but as he’s got more bulk he’s certainly slowed.

I can't remember him coming with the fastest man tag. He wasn't even a regular with Hull.
He isn't slow but as said he has put on some muscle to play centre and he doesn't get a clear field like he did on the wing.
But he's hardly slow.

Nah, if he gets clear, nobody will catch him but a winger
Bet there are less than a handful of players in SL that could catch him (in the right circumstances) that are not wingers.
He went 80 just a couple of weeks ago against Leeds

Reece Lyne is one of my favourite players - he's an object lesson in succeeding through application and hard work; and over the last 2-3 seasons, he's become an outstanding player.

I used to get frustrated with his sideways metres - but I can see now why he does it - because he can bust tackles and nip through gaps - so when he crabs across the line, they have to go with him, and as a result, he pulls the defensive line into a complete mess; if he gets a quick ptb or a break off the back of that, it causes even more havoc. And as others have said, he's an excellent defender - goes in big and strong and hits really hard.

Hats off to the lad - proved a lot of people wrong - including me - and has become a player that would make the starting line-up in most SL teams.

I agree.
He's frustrated me at times but it's because we are still all imagining a centre has to be a slightly built, fast runner with a beautiful pass. The game has changed and centre position is more designed for players like Lyne now.
He's improved where he needs to and strengthened what he was good at.
Credit to him for his hard work.

He's become a fantastic player and in with a great shout of the GB squad at the end of the year. I'll admit to getting the hump with him in 2015 but looking back he was dragged down with the rest of them. Under Chester he has improved hugely.
