It's a false dawn for Warrington. Most seasons begin with a team burning brightly at the beginning. Last week, they stayed in the game by playing with real intensity. Last night, they blew Saints away by playing again with intensity. But that is not sustainable in the Super League. Too many games, and it will attract injuries.
The test for them will be when they can't raise that intensity, and playing this rather reckless offloading game will undo them, because they'll spend too much time defending.
Great to watch, but bright lights burn out more quickly. It's the team that just does the good stuff regularly and persistently that wins. Wire might only just make the top four because of the way they're playing. Saints will return. Wigan will just plug away. Hull look big and strong. It only takes Cas to start firing and they'll be out of the four.
(PS: I'm in Phil Clarke mode: make a ridiculous prediction but look a genius when the rare one comes off)
