However what he does is bring in a mental toughness and a higher bar for setting standards.
Any young player can only be inspired by him and the more senior players will certainly improve as a result of him being around.
Suggest that anyone having doubts should watch his 2 month spell for Balmain in 1988 which had the Aussie public drooling at his class.
Oh come on I could have coached that team which he inherited, he then completely wrecked it and got sacked!
As for being a great player well that is not in doubt, however this has nothing to do with coaching at all.
Frankly giving Hanley the job would destroy the club and you’d be begging to see Chester back imho.
