Coaches absolutely have a limited lifetime at a club but how long that is is not a fixed number of course. The reason it is often the case is that fans aren't patient through the peaks and troughs. It's understandable but sometimes peaks are missed because of it.
Wenger or more so Ferguson lasted a long time and saw a lot of success but they had low times where some fans were edgy. Staying with the was better than ditching.
Equally sometimes it just doesn't work like a Tony Casper Smith or a Webster.
But looking at someone like Agar or Kear, would we have been better sticking?
Agar has proved he can do it and every player I hear comment about him says great things but many fans hated him. The Hull fans pushed it and some latched on when things got rocky.
For me it's the same with Chester. It's a big decision to let someone go. I wouldn't do it this season anyway because a new coach won't be starting in a good environment. If we were signing Holbrook or JD or Craig Bellamy then of course they are proven to be better.
Just jumping to an unproven assistant is not good enough for me and I'd rather stick with Chester.
