I concur that for us McShane was a disappointment but for Cas he’s been a revelation. It’s a simple truth, some players are so good they will shine anywhere, some so bad they will always fail but most just need to find the club that suits them.

Well thats 5 Cas players that have won it (4 in the last 10 years) so we must be doing some thing right.

Don't remember much negative comment when the likes of Vowles, Gale, Chase and Clarke received the honour. Condemnation of this one has been pretty unanimous outside the Castleford enclave.

Tbf I don't think he was the right choice and deep down I don't think you do, but if that's what the panel thinks I'm ok with it, he's still a very good player.

McShane couldn't have made it more plain when he was with us that his heart wasn't in it, and his performances showed it.
