That calculator is crap. Based on figures of 2m a week, the top 4/5 groups will have been vaccinated by the end of March and as has Vasty has stated, herd immunity will kick in.
Almost certainly. Under normal circumstances, I can live with that but at the moment it's appalling irresponsible behaviour.
It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't know that the first to bleat should the Government decide to bring in reporting restrictions would be these very same sleazy newspapers etc.

Agreed.
I've done it twice in the last month, using the same parameters and been given two differing time periods in 2021.
Talking about responsibility of giving factual advice. The over 50's and vulnerable amount to approx 24,000,000 that's approx 48,000,000 dosages, so even at the ambitious target of 2,000,000 a week best case would be almost 6 months, however this government are struggling to do 150,000 tests per day (approx 1m a week) and this resource would be partially used to roll out the vaccine, so the chances that this fantastic government will deliver the promise on this latest of "world beating" roll outs are zilch, it is going to take 3 years to immunise 70% of the population (the level required for so called herd immunity). Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-vaccine or a covid conspiracy nut Job, I am however a believer in truthful factual information from our government, which for the last 12 months is something we haven't had

Have to disagree with you on this. 1.1m have been vaccinated already. And has already been said, initially, it will be only one dose given followed by the second 12 weeks later. The test is completely different to the vaccination.

yep it’s a lot quicker to carry out the test than to vaccinate someone And it’s taken 4 weeks to do that 1.1m so if you’re using that to back up your theory it’s going to take 4 times as long and that’s just the first jab

Is it? Have you done it? The 1.1m were all with the Pfizer jab which takes longer to prepare and administer than the Oxford jab. Im confident it can be achieved as they want.

I’ve had a Covid test it took about 30 seconds, both the phizer jab and Oxford jab require the recipient to be monitored for 15 mins after being administered. Anyways I’ve managed to not get in to any Covid related arguments on social media since this all started as I made a promise to myself. I’m happy that I understand the numbers and the logistics and the maths to work it all out. Boris has confirmed there has been 1000 locations identified as to where the vaccinations will take place with plans for a couple of hundred more. This governments history on delivering logistical support to the NHS so far in this pandemic points to another massive fail. But everyone is I’m entitled to their own opinion, even if the 2,000,000 a week target gets hit within a month of starting, it will take at least another 28 weeks to vaccinate all the over 50’s in the UK twice, let alone the clinically vulnerable and key workers

Ok, we have to disagree then.... With regard to your monitoring after the jab, the recipients are in the room next to where they have been vaccinated and observed by other people - so not adding any time.
Just a few points lads, before the jab, a short consultancy up to 15 mins is required then the jab, if all is ok, then 15 more mins to check your ok, simple ehh. Your points about the list,, reported via Google news, government say a drive in & jab to be set up & run @ Morrissons, Dewsbury Rd Wakefield from Monday ? So, how will that work with the listing process & records etc & for follow up Jab ? Interesting times lads !
