I absolutely loath the golden point. I think more than any other sport a draw shows what a genuinely equal contest has just taken place. So if ever both teams deserved some reward then a RL draw is it.
But no so desperate are we for a gimmick we give up one of the finest parts of our game, namely it’s tendency to always produce a winner! Even more insulting we then see a false result usually created from an unholy scramble to score a drop goal, which imo is an auxiliary element of the game. I don’t mind it being a match winner in the last minute of normal time but to see it used as a further time decider, no.
There is no jeopardy despite the efforts of Sky to suggest there is. Whoever gets within range first probably wins and against a tired defence that’s often whoever receives the kick off.
Maybe it’s just me and I assume you but I agree, what the hells wrong with a draw, it seems fair reward to all imho.
