Any other updates from the meeting?
I was meant to join but something came up at the last minute so I missed it
No good news on stadium funding, JM absolutely weed off, with the other party delaying tactics, and nothing the club can do to bring them to the table. I guess there’s no surprise there.
Access problems to install the 4th floodlight during playing season but hopefully this can be overcome. Cost of replacing floodlights £40,000. No mention of cost for Rollin shack refurbishment. MC saying no club can go a full season without back up players for key pivotal players therefore signing players who can cover different positions amongst the backs.
Well if after many many months we can’t even get the other party to the table to discuss and don’t have a strong enough bargaining chip to even do that it’s pretty obvious which way things are heading regards funding.
I can understand why JM will be annoyed. It seems there is no incentive for them to stump up or even discuss stumping up. Such a shame after initial positivity I had about the development happening it’s looking rather ominous and looks like we are most likely going to be bitten again.
I hope I’m wrong and I’ll hold out some hope but if they’re not even willing to engage in discussions then it tells you everything.
My fear is if this development doesn’t happen I think we will struggle to be anything other than a club that runs on shoestrings and punches every so often. It could seriously put our top flight status at risk in coming years too.
