I don't think any team plan to use Covid as an excuse, it just happens and most clubs simply take advantage of it when they would probably play had they not got injury problems as well, it's called playing the system, maybe we might use it if we were involved in a fight for the play offs or were in serious danger of relegation, who knows like Salford we will never know but we have our own thoughts on the matter.

There’s an article on the BBC sports site warning of possible sanctions for clubs manipulating the Covid protocols to gain unfair advantage by postponing games.

Super League clubs have been warned by the game's governing body they could face a potential points deduction if they call off matches in an attempt to gain an unfair advantage.

Within the rules set yes. Minimum criteria for reaching the playoffs is 18 games and the format is the top 6 based on order of qualifying teams. However as our game is as bent as a nine bob note I wouldn’t be surprised if Leeds Whinos and a other clubs who don’t qualify will whinge themselfs into a spot and our club will just stand by and let it happen.

I was was wondering whether Cas' 2 cancelled games count towards the 18?
They've actually only played 12, although one was cancelled by the other team. I would suggest that if a team fails to fulfil a fixture, it doesn't count towards the 18 game minimum.
Should the game go ahead on Friday, we will once again be the only club to have played all our games.

It is difficult not to count them because one of the cancellations was not the fault of Castleford but Huddersfield.

Weather they agreed or not its still wrong and thats still one team in a false postion a team could end up winning more games than another and go down.as a fan i dont agree with it and 1 of the many reasons im starting to lose intrest in the sport

Apparently now teams that call off games due to COVID could deducted 2 completion points
