A large section of my ancestors ( the Shillitoes, a very common name in Campsall/Askern at one time.) hail from Campsall, Donny, and we still like a walk around Askern Lake. Went today as it happens. Hope Trinity continue on the trail that they started last Sunday, and that you are with them all the way.
I'm from other side of Donny; brought up in Edenthorpe and Kirk Sandall. Our lass and her family are from Norton, and she has heard of the Shilitoes - says they're a big name in this area, as you say. Yes, Askern 'Lake' is a good walk - often have a wonder down with the dog.
I hope Trinity are on the up, too. Really glad I started with it, and can't wait to get into it proper.
I'm not old enough to remember Tattersfield - obviously heard and read about it, and know exactly where it is. Hard to imagine a rugby ground there, in some sense.
