The NRL is not the place for him because he is not strong enough to survive the physicality of the Australian game particularly with how the wingers are utilised. Utter rubbish, you really are walking cliche at times.

No just like you it is just an opinion but mine is based on what I have seen of the NRL whilst yours is not because you have said you don’t watch much of the NRL. I know you don’t like anyone who does not accept the world according to you who appears to have an opinion on everything. I know your usual band of brothers have been boosting your ego but I stand by what I think so just accept it and stop trying to belittle posters which is your usual modus operandi to make them go away because it is pathetic.

I guess it should also be balanced with NRL training and NRL medical care.
When fit Tom is more than capable of playing NRL.
It's just whether his injuries will be found out.

No difference to Ryan Hall. He'd have been great over there if he hadn't done his knee before starting. He made ground for fun but just didn't have enough game time to prove his worth...... And was in a team with an already stacked roster for outside backs.

Oh do shut up, your attempt to get a sympathy vote is both pointless and genuinely pathetic.

As for the NRL, give it rest, I'm not besotted with it but I've seen plenty of it, certainly enough to comment.

The physicality stuff is utterly overblown by people like you. I have plenty of Aussie friends and relatives and as far as I'm aware they are all flesh and blood, there is nothing supernatural about them. Australians are not special, they injure just the same as us.

It's the game that differs, the speed and the organization mainly. TJ would need to get up to speed and if he didn't he'd fail, but the physicality wouldn't be the cause, the cause would be that he just wasn't good enough.

Neither him, myself, or YOU know whether he could manage it but there is no reason he shouldn't give it a go

I think Hall left it a bit too late, going to the NRL when he was thirty one, having said that he was still picking up trophies with Leeds so why would he want to have gone any earlier. In the games I saw Hall play in the NRL it always seemed as if Crichton and Manu on he left edge were reluctant to give him a decent pass, just the odd pass when he was well marked, In one game he played on the left wing and the right winger was put in for five tries.

Tom has just turned twenty six and as has been said, I hope he stays with us but it would be interesting to see how he went down there and I wouldn't blame him for having a go. He might just shut Phil Gould up, the bloke who never has anything good to say about UK rugby league.

You could say the same for Joe Burgess he went over as one of our best wingers but bounced around the NRL before returning to Wigan and now Salford. It is clear that the forwards have faired better than the backs, it will be interesting to see how Gildart goes with him being a centre.
I did say that Tom was good enough but I don’t think his body is currently strong enough. It is possible that under the NRL coaching he may beef up but would that increase the pressure on his knees or restrict his main asset which is speed.
I guess unlike some I accept this is just an hypothetical option but based on watching the NRL whilst others whose hypothetical opinion appears to be based on people he knows in Australia. He will definitely need to get use to the fact having an opinion on everything does not make them correct and resorting to insults just shows the weakness of his case.
I wonder if Gould knows Vastman because they appear to generate the same desire to request they just shut up.

I'm not telling you to shut up regarding your opinion and you know it, it's you're snide little dig about being picked on, diddums,

You're viewing Burgess in hindsight, you're not even giving TJ a chance.

Tom has suffered injuries that are little to do with his body type, ie calf strains, and broken bones, his two biggies have just been pure bad luck, as far as I'm aware nobody is predisposed to ACLs, ditto the concussion issue. He may go through the rest of his career never having another serious injury.

Makinson went through a very similar ordeal in his early career I believe, though with different injuries, but he's hardly had a scratch in recent years and won a golden boot.

I will explain it to you, unless you can see into the future which I guess you can’t or you would have won the lottery and now own the club. This means that what you post is just an opinion, not based on actual facts just what you think. It is possible for others to believe your opinions on subjects are wrong but like I have said these are just opinions. I believe some who post on here have greater knowledge of what is going on but that is not you. Why will you not accept that if you post a Vastman opinion then you may get some kickback. The problem for you is that you get more than most because you have opinions on more than most.
I agree Makinson like Tom suffered a string of injuries however the difference is that he is not going to the NRL whilst you are making your assumptions based on Tom doing so. In my opinion it would be too great a risk but we will never know unless he does then your opinion can be validated or not but until then it is an interesting topic but purely hypothetical.

On that. Makinson would also make it in NRL.

There are a lot of British players who would do very well in the NRL if they were willing to give it a good go. It’s all about attitude. SL is inferior to the NRL as a comp but that doesn’t mean all the players are.

Quality British players in SL can only play what’s in front of them, they would soon adapt to the NRL.
