Depends on the charger mine at home is a 7kWh (my car takes 64 kWh from 0 to 100%) I also top up on my solar panels so mine is efficient. Some outlets are 22kWH and 43kWH these are usually AC. 50kWH rapid charges are DC

Mine will top up to 90% on a rapid charge and 100% on AC

as an example a 50kWH DC charger will charge a Nissan leaf from 0% to 80% in 30 mins (A leaf has 40kWH battery storage.

In addition if you park at say Snow Hill, Junction 32 or Crown Point as examples you can charge for free. There are lots of other places too.

Hope this explains it clearly just for a comparison I have a Kia e-Niro 64 kWh. in the summer and on ECO it will do around 320 miles on a full charge this time of year anything from 270 to 300 depending upon which drive mode is selected and what heating etc you use.

Damn!!!

Does that mean I've wasted my brass on those 40,000 Energizer AA and 40,000 AAA batteries that I've just stocked up with???

I was reading the other day that batteries in cars last longer when not charged to the max and perform better to 80% which makes it last longer, I would like to see hydrogen powered vehicles as this more abundant in supplies but it is a tad more dangerous

i don't usually fully charge mine I also have a 90%limit when I use a DC charger as they can impact on the battery life after several years.

Are electric cars now competitively priced?
Is there one yet that is capable of towing a caravan?

No, and yes

In fact, electric cars with sufficient power, of which there are many, are ideal as electric cars offer far more torque than either petrol or diesel.

Their Achilles heel remains their range and charging times, which is still unacceptable to me.

I'm all for them but I'm not going to be a trendsetter I'm afraid, I'll wait until the next generation. are available.

Thread drift!

Anyhow I'm hoping by the time I'm ready to get a new car Hydrogen technologyand infrastructure will have moved on, electric cars are currently unaffordable and lets be honest the country's electrical network will not be able to cope with the demand should the majority switch, certainly not without significant investment and disruption.

Let’s get back on Topic and forget about electric cars, the developers have hopefully addressed the council’s initial concerns over the number of cycles parking spaces and car park lights.

Cycle Parking
The Council have requested enhanced cycle parking facilities. The enclosed drawings illustrate 16- no. staff parking spaces located to the southern side of the car park. These proposed spaces accompany the 40-no. public cycle parking spaces proposed, meaning the site will be served by a total of 56-no. spaces in total.
Car Park Lighting Plan
The Council have requested the provision of a car park lighting plan. Plan ref. WBS-63-00-E102- P1 Proposed Lighting Plan illustrates the lighting proposals which comprise: • 3-no. 8m columns with 1 x 2-no. head Orion LED lanterns AL4501/320W;
• 14-no. Wall Mounted AL60601/28W Revati Bulkhead (Mounted at 4m High);

You started it DS - you mentioned electric cars first! :D
Seriously, and back on track, I don't see anything in your text that should cause a serious issue in respect of planning. I look forward to getting the thumbs up on the 16th of THIS MONTH!!
