Congrats to Reece!
Well deserved.
Disappointed re TJ, but tbh, would prefer to see him in our RW&B this season without going to the training camp - that's all it is....
tbh, he's already been there and done it.
However, if he continues to go as well as he has been doing over the season - so far 4 tries in 3 games plus a great assist - it would p*ss me off if he wasn't in the final squad.

so what are the potentials in the Trinity squad for rep honours at the world cup

Lyne for England
Johnstone for England (but also qualifies for Scotland)
Lino for Samoa
Arona for the Cook Islands
Hood for Scotland

any others?

Kay could play for Ireland again but he's knocking on a bit. As is Aronacreally. Cook Islands have some young guns to play.

I'm not sure we can have TJ representing England with that horror show on his bonce tbh
I feel a more aerodynamic faux hawk fade or a long crew with tapered sides would go a long way to assuring his inclusion in the future.

You are aware this is just a training squad aren't you and not the final squad for the World Cup?

I’m not so shocked by TJs absence, plenty of time at over a try a game. I am shocked at two of the wingers chosen.

Hall and McGillvery are not past it but they are no longer international class or building for the future. Both are poor selections imho.

Agreed.
Both of them have played well for England in the past but, they wont exactly scare the opposition.
Mind you, their primary use will be to take the ball out of defence, rather than race the length of the field to score.

Shaun Wane has always liked his wingers to act as ball carriers and in fairness to Jerry and Hall they were world class a couple of years ago at doing that.

Hall's carry hasn't diminished that much but Jerry's has fallen away massively. Both used to be able to find their fronts and generate quick play the balls putting us on the front foot. I think that is where Tom could improve (given Wane likes that style), he has a good carry however he maybe is a little too upright and maybe fights a little too hard in the tackle meaning defenders can get at him more and hold him up and get him on his back slowing the PTB down.

Davies and Marshall are not in TJ's class as an all round winger but they do both have a good carry and being a bit shorter and with lower centres of gravity tend to be able to find their fronts regularly. I don't however see Davies or Marshall as being anywhere near as effective as Hall and Jerry were at this in their prime as bother were top class at his aspect of the game so maybe Wane will look to alter that tactic, but I doubt it.

He picked TJ last year so I see no reason to believe he won’t again.
