I’m as miffed as everyone with our recent form but it only seems a few weeks ago that it was euphoric on here. Willie is as good a coach as I believe we could attract at present & I honestly believe this team has got wins in it, as we have witnessed this. With hindsight as much as we all dreamt of Challenge Cup glory, we went into the Easter weekend with a tough game in the players legs & missing Fifita, who we are missing desperately.

Have the players given up or is it fatigue, hopefully the latter? As someone else posted, it’s up to the players to get themselves out of this as I can’t believe Willie has given up this soon.

Oh yeah before anyone accuses me of being rose tinted etc, I was as wild as anyone after the Cas debacle!

When I saw the OP I thought of Michael Palin and Ripping Yarns. Barnsornwoth United. Sadly, I cannot think of anyone who has just retired, to come back and help other than Ben Flower! And it’s not his shout. If only, a Skerrett or a Burke etc…….

TBH frustrated as I am I dont blame poching, we all knew before the season started that we lacked 2 front row forwards of some size - we signed adebyi and whitbread neither of which are any better or offer anything different to what we have, in fact I think Gwaze had more to offer than Sid.

Reality is that our fundamental problem is that without Big dave we dont really have a forward that can break the line. Individually there has been plenty of effort but we lack size quality and dynamism in the pack.

Its very frustrating but reality is that we need to scrape two more wins from somewhere get the new stand built and think about next season.

If all else were equal I d be looking to Australia to pick up an experienced front row and deregister Tupou, but if I were MC Id be thinking what's the point as long as we dont get relegated why spend the money - difference between second and third to bottom is marginal at best

It does matter because you need to retain your better players and we have three coming to the end of their contracts. I have said before would you want to continue your career at the club whose last silverware other than the Yorkshire Cup was in the sixties and have bounced along the bottom for the last few seasons.

Right now, even though we did the double over Wire and beat Toulouse, we are in a deep hole.
Having seen most of the weekend's games, we look the weakest of the lot, with the possible exception of Toulouse and the last 3
results and more importantly the manner of those results has been scary. Very little fight in the side and frankly, based on those 3 results, just not good enough.

We already appear to be in a relegation battle with Toulouse (assuming that Leeds come good or, at least, improve).

The "performances" away at Wigan and v KR were just awful and it's difficult to see how this can change.

WE desperately need Fifita back on the field and if there is a magic wand, another big decent forward

The bottom line is that shelling out cash on tickets, travel, refreshments, to watch the away games, is just a waste of brass just now.

The Wigan result was expected, although Salford certainly stood up well against them but to be played off the park by an average Cas side and embarrassed by KR simply isn't worth the pain.

It's such a pity.

We are finally to see the ground get some investment and Trinity celebrate their 150th anniversary (next season).
There should be a real buzz about the place :DEPRESSED:

Well players have been 'continuing their career' since the Yorkshire Cup final without silverware so its not a new problem.
As said above, it's only a few weeks ago we were on a winning run and everyone was happy so although disappointed I don't think it's time to panic.
We need to fix the issues we have and continue with the original plan.

Very disappointed with Sid, I thought he'd really make a mark after some good show in the reserves.

It's not easy coming into a team on a downer but that's when most players make their mark.

I'd rather de-register Whitbread to be honest. He's not terrible but he's no better than we could have picked up in the championship IMHO unless I'm missing something.

Is Sid the one we signed from London who had been injured for the majority of the previous season. It would appear that Gwaze was the man of the match for Halifax against Barrow.

We brought Brian Smith in to whip the team into shape ,all that did so I’m told was rankle the players more and was shown the door pronto . Would getting Foxy, or TC or even Brooks in to tell the players in no uncertain term what is expected of them at this club and by playing the way they are they are tarnishing the clubs reputation .It’s a real shame for the lads that are busting a gut ,heard Crowther was getting some grief off a mindless idiots ,chanting ( your not fit to wear the shirt ) as he came off the field . Now if there is anyone that does deserve to hold his head high in all this its Crowther . If our far more illustrious players played with the same passion and pride for our club ,we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place .

Pretty much my thoughts, let's hope that there is a 100% improvement (because there will have to be) and we can start with a win against the Giants.
I think we're going to have to struggle through another season with what we've got and re-build for next season.
I expect that TJ, Bill Tupou and Dave won't be with us next season, and probably more.
About Tommy I'll be gutted but I wouldn't blame the lad for going.
Surprisingly, we're still not bad off for threequarters, so hopefully can strengthen the pack to compete next season.
