Bowes at 13 - no thanks we have better. Bowes is a good prospect at No 9.Where the heck does this come about Gale? He's had his best years elsewhere and nearing the end of his career. I know that Finn was also nearing the end when he came to us but I'd have Finn anyday instead of Gale.
Don't like him and wouldn't like him wearing the RW and B.

Bowes has played a number of games at 13 I believe. And nobody is saying he should start there. He is simply an option should it be needed.

Not sure where this Gale rumour has come from. First I’ve heard of it. Can’t see much available in the UK so if Miller has gone we would need to consider what’s here or look at the NRL for a quota player.

So sad to hear about possibly signing these 2 old men who CANNOT play a long season at that age, do we never learn, we have a problem playing for 80 minutes, we already have too many 30 + players, we simply do not deliver good young players that we believe in, yes we have young players but we have very little faith in them !
I hoped with WP, we would change our culture, but it seems same of/as before, I am in praise of Carter but, I am afraid we are held back by lack of vision !

It amazes me how some people A know better than the coaching staff and B pre judge potential signings based on age.

Funny because ZIp zip and Ray Price were old when they joined us and they did.

Funny was the most recent.

Even funnier is that the same posters criticised the signing of Hall and even more Butler because they were too young and inexperienced.

Does anyone else get the feeling that the club just can’t win with some posters.

I think on the outside looking in we appear to be losing Batchelor who is a promising young forward and bringing in a player who may do a solid job but is effectively another short term stop gap. Being the Salford captain and ex NZ international I would imagine he will be far more expensive than Batchelor potential contract. Personally it’s a very short term thinking signing. We will have Pitts, Ashurst, Taylor all at the tail end of their careers who will very soon (next 1/2 years) need to be replaced by good quality SL standard players. Maybe the players just aren’t available to us and we have little options available to us. I don’t think it would be a needed signing as I see Ashurst, Pitts and Crowther in the 11/12/13 positions next year with Tanginoa coming off the bench and Pitts moving to 13. It’s the coaches call and he will reap the rewards or fall to the sword on the recruitment choices he makes. I can totally accept that.

If we sign him I won’t rubbish him and will support him. He gets the same chance any new player does. Think we are in silly season at the moment though with rumours flying round everywhere. Most won’t be true.

Yes of course they can win but so do the team, sufficiently so to avoid our current trend of bouncing along the bottom. To do this they need to sign players who can improve the squad not fill a shirt. I think we have now cleaned out the London squad. I see you quote Butler, he could be a good signing but that decision cannot be made on his current time on the field. The reference to zip zip would be valid but he was only 28 when he played for us so not really in the veteran stage of his career. With regards Ray Price he was a proven class player with a long and distinguished career in the NRL and for Australia. The ones we sign of that age had not reached the level of Ray Price.

Fair enough I just don't see him there even as a stop gap - but we all have our opinions.
Gale is one of those players who doesn't exactly endear himself to opposing fans, but I have absolutely no say in whether he comes our way or not - quite rightly!
I personally hope we don't go for him, but if we do and he plays, then I will have to support him because the club comes before my feelings for a player! That really means I'll eat humble pie - but only if he is still able to do it for Trinity.

Taylor would be a great signing but Gale? No no no and another no! Wakefield could do much better than a limited halfback who has issues.

I hope for your sake you stay well clear.

Gale did nothing at Leeds (the club he always wanted to play for !!) and has done even less at Hull, so why on earth would we want him ??....he was good 4 years ago, but IMO has now passed his sell-by-date...no thanks.

I think Ray Price was a bit of a one off. Ageing NRL imports are a huge gamble. One more recent player for us should confirm that. Also Steve Ella was 28 when he came over.

Personally, we have Batch, Crowther, Pitts and even Walker who can play there.

If Miller and Lino are going, we may be best advised to look at quota spots for our halves.

It is also a no from.me, regarding Gale. Ageing, injury and ban prone nowadays. What % of games has he played since he left Castleford

Batch and Walker I are out of contract and as it stands won’t be here next season. If we want them we will have to sign them assuming others haven’t already. I can see Walker going back to the championship.

Not sure where this Lino rumour has come from. He’s under contract and I would highly doubt he will be going anywhere.
