Still hanging onto the hope that big Dave and his brother link up with us ,so need some wiggle room on the quota ,in his podcast Dave is all up for playing his swan song with Andrew , hopefully down at Belle Vue

Dave may be able to go around another season. But what people are saying about Andrew, many think he's arrived at the end

What Dave was alluding to was at the end of Andrew’s contract he has a window to play over here as he’s still covered by his medical cover for 2 years from the date of him finishing at his present club . So could possibly play a season then get all the broken bits mended by his medical cover , convoluted I know but listening to Dave he says it’s a dream of his to play one last time with his brother , watch this space as they say .

Just watched Andrew playing for the Sharks beating Melbourne… he started the game and played 20/25 minutes… then returned for the last 10. (Although he was sin binned with 3minutes to go)

Very strong game he looked fit and eager

If he’s still got some in the tank to go round with Dave for 2023 then it’s worth exploring (as long as we don’t break the bank).

I’m fine with it as a short term for 2023. It must fall somewhere in line with our budget though as we need to strengthen elsewhere too. We simply must add 2/3 high quality players and some capable cover with good potential.

We will likely need a few props, a halfback (if miller is leaving), a utility forward and probably a utility back too.

I still think youth is the way to go and build for the future in 2-5 years. Looks like Leon Ruan has been playing every game at Doncaster and been playing well. He’s a big lad and will be better for the experience much like Eseh has been getting. Maybe worth looking at again.

I think we need to sign a top class half as the immediate priority. Any budget left after that then take it from there and consider where else to strengthen

If Miller goes then we definitely need some quality in that position for sure. Someone like Croft would be ideal.

Not sure there’s much available in the uk unfortunately in that position. Do we have a half that’s making his way through that looks like he has the skills to make it? Didn’t Abrahams go to Australia this season to develop his game. I wonder if he’s worth looking at again as an option.
