By all accounts he also brought a great deal of hard discipline and that didnt go down too well with some. There is no doubt he set high standards and put good structures and foundations in place. I have no doubt that Chester with the help of Kear at his side, greatly benefited from the work of Brian Smith. After a while standards dropped things changed and Kear left. We then saw the true ability of Chestet as a coach.

I remember an interview on Sky what was introduced as an interview with Chester. When it came on there was Michael Carter in the forground and Chester sat behind over his right shoulder. The interviewer was only interested in rugby related matters and yet Chester hardly said a word and Carter took central stage. Anyone switching on and not knowing much about rugby would have assumed Carter was the Coach and Chester is assistant.
Now I am not saying you are wrong but quite often I have seen things that have given me a different interpretation
I saw a similar interview on the RL with James Deighton page on Facebook.
Agree regarding Brian Smith, and I do feel that's what's needed now, and if we were to get that sort of person, they need to be allowed, and left alone to do what is necessary, even if some of these players don't buy into it
