If you wanted to design a situation for a full back to struggle, it would be in his first competitive game for six months, on a night with driving rain and a howling wind, under floodlights, against probably the best kicker in the comp.

I've seen plenty of Hooley and am 50-50 on whether he's a SL player, but I know I wouldn't be judging him on 1 game under those conditions.

I seem to recall a recently departed winger having a bit of a nightmare debut but he came good. One game won't define Luke Hooley's Super League career.

Dagger went OK and was pretty safe under the high ball apart from that scramble late on when I thought we could have been awarded a penalty.

Not wierd. It looks like Leeds just refused to assist us. Whether that’s a Smith or Leeds club decision who knows but ultimately it led to the KR swap deal (which remains to be seen how that turns out).

Hooley played for Leeds last week as Myler was on paternity leave. I expect they didn't want to loan him out until after Mylers girlfriend had given birth so they could cover his position.
