Sorry, but I just don't see what Hewitt has to offer us,and hardly ever noticed him when he's played.(did actually see him drop the ball early doors but that's par for the course for us) When we first took him on loan there were a couple of posters from Far Town bulling him up,but personally I haven't seen it.Don't think he offers any improvement on what we already have and hope we don't consider trying to sign him for our rebuild!

Although I didn't think he had a particularly good game, who do we have that's better?
Pitts yes, Ashurst probably yes, but there's 3 in the back row.
Proctor is in front row, Kelepi injured, Windrow not ready for every week rugby, Crowther hot and cold.

I personally don't like the 'blooding' thing.
They are either ready or not. And if not you'll just break them.
Especially when the rest of the team are not capable of covering them.

Not sure if you watch reserves or last years academy but you seem very reluctant to play the youth, for me joe law is more than ready if you haven't seen him think you would be shocked hed deffo do no worse than hewitt with added bonus a player we will have next year will be gaining experience as for mearns i think hed do ok now im no coach but 40 years watching the game at all levels and would be happy to see them play, we are 0 from 14 could they actually do any worse

IMO Hewitt hasn't stood out in in a very poor quality and poorly coached side,or if he has I haven't noticed.Luppy,I think, watches all the reserves etc, and if the lads he's mentioned are ready, why not give them a try? What's to lose,we are going down anyway.Must add though that it's imperative the coaching team is rebuilt before the team.

But that's exactly my point Luppy. If they are ready then play them. If they are not then don't play them just because the rest of the team are rubbish.

I'd don't think any player is ready without getting a good run of first team games. They can look great in acadmey/reserve games but without experiencing that step up they have no chance to improve.

I think you’re right there and that’s ‘blooding’ them if you like.
It’s quite different to selecting a player who is completely not ready to step up.

I agree. If they've looked good in reserves then they deserve a step up, but not just looking good in academy. That's a big step.
