We have to be (much) better than last week, that's for certain. I havent seen the completion stats but, we were shocking and there was zero from either of our halves.
Having aid that, back at home, in front of a decent crowd, I'm expecting that we will win by 12 points.
As a Fev fan, I'll be amazed if it's anywhere near as close as that. We're currently a shadow of the side you met twice before this season, let alone last season, as a combination of injuries, suspensions and loss of form have seen us in a proper slump. We were beyond awful against Doncaster, who aren't very good themselves but were value for more than the winning margin, and unless we get any players back this weekend we're down to around 14 eligible players plus loanees and DRs, and two or three of those 14 are either very young fringe players or recent signings from the amateur game.
As well as the injuries which every club has, Gale and Patton are suspended, and to add to our woes Connor Jones has had to return to Aus this week due to a family issue. We've had to lure 38-year-old James Lockwood out of retirement this week, which is a good indicator of where Fev are at the moment sadly. I'm sure you'll get a reaction this week from your players, but I suspect you won't need one to win this comfortably.
All the postings are correct & I expect & hope we win. Of concern is we play the same way & tactics every game, various teams have tried with various differing tactics which we have had to think of & workout how to win, teams do there homework on us, we are there in the same way with the same plays, we may need to add some differing tactics as all good sides can do, just a thought not criticism, up the trin !.
Hi pop tart, what you have said is quite a good point of view but if you always play predictive then they have a good way to beat you, by making some yes some changes there plan is diminished from the start rather than us being frustrated from the start & leaving it late to change during the game. I once listened to Bill Ashurst & his way was to always change things to keep them guessing thus wrong footing the opposition + I do agree with you about a good or great team can change tactics on the field, but we are some way off that tag yet. Just a point of view of mine, but in DP, I feel we have one of the best coaches come team manager !

We've lost one game playing as we have, so why change it? Don't know what you mean re changes during the game as its obvious this has been happening anyway. And no offence, but its a different game from Bill's day.....

We can't continue playing the same loose rugby for the next 10 games just to have our rear ends kicked by Toulouse again in the play offs. Changes need and maintained from Sunday onwards.

There is nothing wrong with adapting to an opponents strength but not at the expense of your own
