Great statement from SWAG, reminding all concerned about the past duplicity of both WMDC & Box where WTRLFC are concerned.

Whatever happens I hope that the outcome sees both clubs surviving as viable SL clubs - anything less would be a disaster for the district of Wakefield.

Doesn't say much really, apart from the hope that you get outline planning permission.

Why did Box choose to make a press release only to the Wakey rag, no consideration to letting the Pont and cas readers know about this. Could it be that he believes they have no need to worry about such matters as their beloved Pete is making sure they get what they want.

Because the Wakey Express is available in Ponte and Cas?

Wouldn't trust Box as far as a could throw him. Cas are happy to have a review where as Trinity don't see the need to have one as long as the promised land loaned to the trust remains in place.
Think that says everything about the intentions of Box.

They wanted to disregard the community facilities on offer at Newmarket in any such review. Wonder why that is.

Is Glasshoughton Box's council constituency? because I get the feeling, looking around the place he won't be happy till he has a rugby ground and even a cathedral to complete the place. Boxville ?

Some of you will be wondering why we didn't come clean earlier about our involvement in this.

This was all meant to be kept as a private matter - with any announcements only coming via agreed worded statements. One man has decided to open Pandora's Box (!) and open this up to public debate. His reasoning is to try and force the clubs to agree on a process that they cannot. He is now playing hard-ball with the packets of land offered to both clubs - and this from someone who purports to support Rugby League in the district.

We will stay strong - as we - the club / trust / developer - still believe that this can be done. 8)

Incidentally, I got a response back from Cllr Denise Jeffery who is council member for Glasshoughton and Cas Central.

She says that the council are working hard to keep both clubs in Super League.

No, Altofts and Whitwood.

And according to his 'Declaration of Interests' he has 40 x 10p shares in Cas
