Would it be worth going around town on weekends with banners or posters or such and spreading the word about what the Council are doing?

In what way. Please enlighten us all regarding your wonderful alternative - or are you one of those to whom the penny is yet to drop.

I'll help you out shall I - if we don't get the initial agreement enforced there will be no Trinity. There will be no Trinity because there will be no NM and no BV.

By 2019 we WILL be homeless and nomadic. We WILL be kicked out of SL and we WILL be at Dewsbury and we WILL go bust it's inevitable.

This is not. Carters call or the Trust it's the Council. You need to get your head out of the sand like a few others on here - this is now a fight for survival and as far as I'm concerned you need to pick a side and remain loyal.

They don't care, however get a freedom of information request and parade around Wakefield with the respective salaries of the council leaders. That will more than likely rattle cages.

They are playing the holier than thou card in the press, time to show the public what these crooks take from the public purse.

This guy Vastman is talking sense, like it or lump it but it is the clubs future that is at risk.

Is the £500,000 in addition to the obligation to upkeep and maintain the stadium if so we would probably go bankrupt, maybe the council would be happy with that.

Thought when the upgrade of Belle view was mentioned that Wakefield Council said they were going to buy the lease for the ground from the owner and give it to the trust in return for planning permission etc so the demand for rent seems strange, to say the least!

Just reading the statement from the council and this is seems to be the main council come back

Quote from the daily star

"Yet again, we are dismayed by the wholly inaccurate comments made by the club owners about the Newmarket development, especially the claim that there is a 'legally binding obligation for the Council to provide a 99 year lease at a peppercorn yearly rental to the Wakefield and District Community Trust' as there is no reference, at all, in the Unilateral Undertaking to this.

Does any one have access to the document that says we do have to be provided a 99 year lease at a peppercorn yearly rental

It's being talked about a lot and has being one of the fundamental behind the hole stadium from the off

There was an obligation at the Public Inquiry for the Developer in return for planning gain to build a 12,000 capacity stadium and pass it to the Wakefield and District Community Trust on a 99 year lease for a peppercorn. The Trust was then to grant a 99 year underlease to the Club for a rent to be agreed between the Trust and the Club.

Everyone seemed happy with that deal at the time of the PI but apparently some are not happy with it anymore.

Just seen this

Is there a document though with that information that can be uploaded here

If that's the councils argument against us it would be great to see the evidence that we were promised it, if that's possible any one ?

I admire your blind faith and I hope the gamble because that is what it is comes off. To lose will financially destroy our great club because the costs and those of the council and 88M if involved will be astronomical especially when QC’s are involved.
The bit I don’t understand is on what grounds do we think we can win. We can state how badly we have been treated but the fact is the development was subject to certain conditions which have currently not been reached.
We have now due to recent statements virtually ensured if we leave without an agreement in place to return will quickly find the ground probably levelled and other use agreed. This means we will be homeless because we cannot stay at Dewsbury for more than one season.
Why would the council who we continue to berate allow us to share with Castleford.
We walked out of this deal I just hope we have a plan b if we lose.
