Not seen too much in this thread about Thaler and his part in the comeback. Perhaps one of you could pop round his house and get his thoughts?
Honestly ?
Didn't think the ref had a bad game, there were plenty of wins and losses for both sides, Wires penalties conceded were mostly justified as were most of Wakeys.
There were calls made against incidents where points were scored but it was a vid ref game, If Thaler wants to favour one team ahead of another he A. doesn't ask the vid ref or B. doesn't favour a team in front of Sky cameras.
In any case, in the context of the game Wire getting an odd score chalked off shouldn't see them scrape a 2 point win after being 22 points up, if they play like they did in the 1st half, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
I mean you can go through the game analyzing every incident and make a case contrary to the ref if you want, but I'd be more worried that Wires 1st halves are writing cheques their 2nd halves can't cash.
The idea that Wakey did nothing but accept penalties in staging a recovery is a bit tight as is the idea that Wire were not at all forced in to conceding them.
Don't come to Wakey and expect to just walk it, be happy you got the 2, and that you have the opportunity to put right your failures for next week...
