Whenever MC and JM go it will be with my best wishes. As far as I’m concerned they’ve dragged the club from near extinction into the 21st century.
Initially MC sorted out the finances and laterally JM the ground.
Ok, perhaps MC strayed into areas he would have been better advised not to, but that doesn’t detract for me what he has done in the past and for that I for one will be forever grateful.
I think a few posters on her forget that without MC putting his own house on the line they wouldn’t have a club to constantly criticise.
That may well be the case, though they certainly were not in debt by the anount stated, four months prior to him taking over, unless about £1m debt appeared from under the carpet.
He was also on the board of directors from 2011, and was therefore party to some of the decisions made, such as reducing season tickets, giving away free tickets and outsourcing catering. Also, as all contracts were approved by the board, he could well have been involved in big signings in 2011, for Hickey and Tongia.
Stability for a while was brought, culminating in 2 top 5 finishes, but sadly, a legacy being left behind is an ageing team now, with poor results over a lengthy period of time. To continue this path only leads one way. This would undo all the good in earlier years.
This needs to happen soon for the good of the club, both in the long and short term.
