The lack of repercussions amongst the squad members over the years has really come home to roost , along with poor signings and retentions obviously. Instead of moulding a fighting force and having Belle Vue as a fortress ,we are more akin to being run like a holiday club where teams come to pick up easy points without breaking sweat for the most part . This simply can’t carry on whatever division we find ourselves in , because if/when we drop down a level we will continue to have that lack of winning attitude and mental toughness as the few quality players we have go to find pastures new .We need picking up by the scruff of the neck and ring the changes asap before we fall into the abyss never to return to the top flight and while our years away lingering in the bowls of RL
100% correct but all you seem to read on here is that there is nobody willing to invest, people seem to forget that one of his roles as CEO is to get the investment or to employ people who can get the investment. We are a massive city compared to nearly all the other clubs and can't bring in the money needed !!! After around 40 years of watching this club I have never seen it in such a bad state.
Quite right, but those words aren't coming out of the mouth of Carter, he's an accountant and as such can never have enough money, it's the nature of the beast which goes with the job, I'm sure he's doing a good job but the question is, is it good enough, not for some it would seem, pricewise everything shooting up through one thing or another, but whichever way you perceive him to be doing his job good or bad, I would imagine he just cannot go to the sponsors and demand more money because the club like everybody else is having to pay a higher price, I've no doubt the sponsors have the same problems, so maybe it's a little unfair to criticise too much.

But this is his job to do and get what is needed This is a business like any other buisness, can you imagine any other business that needs some investment to remain at the top table in its field just turning round and saying "unfortunately nobody will put any money in so we will just drift into oblivion ". If this was a supermarket, chainstore or in fact any other type of buisness the CEO must get the investment or get people in who can get the investment,it really is as simple as that It's the CEO's job to do this and if they can't we all know what would happen anywhere else
Actually, it only has to be on the scale of when Willie took over!?
Yes your right PT, but I'm now of the opinion it's extremely unlikely to happen with Willie at the helm. I honestly think he's lost the players - he simply can't be coaching them as they are playing - so they are not listening to him or afraid of repercussions.

I think that you have a rather convenient memory, when you look back at the last 40 years

I didn't mean that he would. Just that it doesn't gave to ve Craig Bellamy. This team and this coach are capable. They just aren't making it work now. I wish I (and more importantly they) knew why.

100k a year on Tom Lineham and or Gaskall. Or employ more bodies to help run the club?
Don't get me wrong I know Carter's hands are tied and he does his best. But subtle things could well help. Sometimes getting help in areas where you need help is an absolute god send. It then allows you to do the things you are good at.
