Did notice that behind the sticks at the seated end the pitch where photographers were was very cut up and looked like mud

Have to say that the pitch is a huge concern. There looked to be some nasty cuts and skin missing. Players pulling socks right up.

It could really affect us far more than other teams too as we have to play on it every other week.

Is it actually fit for purpose?

It always used to be a pretty decent pitch at Wakey what have they done to it?

Laid in the Later months and needs plenty of sun on its back to make it lush and then the protective under matting won’t be nearly as much a problem , very early days in the life of the pitch ,would definitely be more concerned about the team that runs out on it personally than the grass .

The pitch is brand new, I feel its been used too much over the past few weeks but it needs time to bed in.

And spending the 500 k on the squad rather than the pitch may of been money better spent

Short term maybe, and when that money has gone with no way of monetising the pitch we'd be worse off.

Both Luppy and Klav make fair points. However having a decent pitch and the money it will make will look like peanuts if we are in the championship with no SL funding.
There is a very strong possibility we could get relegated this season and if so, its highly likely Fev will take our place. They wont give two hoots about playing on a rubbish sloping mud bath and would have the last laugh at us with our fancy pitch.

I’m not sure if it’s already been mentioned on this topic, but do any of you remember when Widnes laid the full artificial pitch.? I can remember the outcry that some clubs, even some Trinity players voiced when they first played on that surface. Correct me if I’m wrong, but no one ever mentions the Widnes pitch nowadays. I think the same will apply to Trinity’s new pitch, after all it’s only part plastic and also conforms to sports bodies regulations.
