I remember that Mamo looked very dangerous last year until his injury. The Hudds coach has admitted that he has had a difficult start to the year, but if he shows some of his pre-injury form from last year, he might do okay. I'm not sure judging a player from Australia in the middle of the Beast from the East is a good way to assess potential.
Yeah but it's not just that, He is 'allegedly' on 150k plus and he simply isn't that good - he was never considered top flight in the NRL so why are we treaing him as such. I mean 29 NRL games for Newcastle!
That's less than both Randell and Pauli and I bet combined there not on what Mamo is on nor did they arrive with quite the over inflated reputation.
I don't doubt when fit he's a decent player but he is not and never will be exceptional and if true is nowhere near worth what they are paying him.
So yes I feel we can judge after a year, not just four games as you suggest. He is frankly no better than Jowitt despite Fickle rather pathetic fawning opinion of him. One that simply can't be justified for a player with as far as I can tell 29 games for the NRL's worst team. But hey stick an Aussie accent on any player and some British fans lose all reason.
If he's as good as the demented fickle makes out then frankly Pauli Pauli and Randell are International class by comparrison. There not in my opinion but using his logic they are.
