Is every call that goes against Wakefield wrong and every call in their favour correct? You'd think Wakefield go 80 mins every week without any foul play.
No of course not, but even as a Leeds fan you must have thought for a couple of calls the gods were with Leeds. For instance the penalty on Pauli for the tackle was ridiculous.

No, clearly not but, those mentioned were all pretty big calls and when they lead directly to an opposition score or, prevent your side from scoring, then, perhaps it's worth a mention on your clubs forum. We had a Leeds fan stood with us yesterday and on a couple of occasions, he couldn't defend or explain what Kendal had done.
The Paupli incident, which was penalised, followed by the numerous head shots from Leeds (and one from Wakefield) was just wrong.
Its not rocket science, we have good players who are giving it their best shot, our game plan was again poor yesterday. Right from the first set we started with fancy dan football, throwing the ball about. Whose bright idea was that, Leeds were missing several props and Sutcliffe was playing at 6 on one leg, for 60 minutes we should have hammered them around the ruck, simple one out drives, plenty of scoots, play field position. Instead with our expansive style we gifted them field position and their middle men who were either filling in or young inexperienced players were not pressured. We need to go to basics
Huh, every time we threw the ball about was when we troubled Leeds... we weren't matching them down the middle imo they were quicker around the ruck and stronger down the middle. Thought Kendall was very lenient in the ruck area.

Agree with this, first half when we were more expansive we seemed to be making meters for fun, I don't think we had to kick from deep once.

my first ever Leeds wakefield game was at bell vue in 1986, Leeds have never ever beaten wakefield without it being entirely the refs fault, they have never been just better than wakefield its always wakefield were somehow cheated, there has been a couple of occasions where the best side lost and leeds sneaked/stole a win they did not deserve, Karl pratts and scott donalds last minute tries for instance, its a bit long in the tooth now, i now we all like to moan about the ref but come on.

Quite similar then to when Trinity beat Leeds (or Wigan). I dont think we've ever been credited with playing well. We usually get some guff about injuries or mystery viruses or training pitches having been waterlogged 6 months ago

I don`t think you will find many Wakefield fans on here that will say every time Leeds have beat us over the years it was the referees fault, you are either talking to children or adults that act like children. It is quite obvious to me that Leeds have been a far superior side to Wakefield over the past few decades.
I did not go yesterday, so i can`t really comment on the referees performance. What i can say is that up until this season, although i have had the odd moan i have never really had a big gripe with the officials...I have been massively disappointed with the standard of refereeing this season so far, that is not just Wakefield games it is as a neutral as well.
In fact to take any bias away from this post - Kyle Wood quite blatantly stripped the ball twice in the Castleford fixture right in front of the referee yet a knock on was given? Two touch judges, one in clear view on both occasions, 2 in goal judges and the referee stood right in the action and they could come to the correct decision?
I came away from Wigan the other week feeling gutted, as i felt the team had played well enough to be in the game, two forward passes that would have led to tries were given against Wakefield, one of which was no where in a million years forward and the other which wasn`t quite as obvious but was still not forward. Now i can accept that forward passes can be missed, but how on earth can a forward passes be given when they are no where near forward i don`t know.
The standard was not good to start with but has got even worse... The consistency 1. Off individual referees and there performance and 2. The officials across the board is non existent!
Sorry but although i like to see a great brand of rugby i would take an ugly 2 points any day. At times Wigan are god awful to watch, they slow the game down at the ruck, they are anti offload (even when its on) there set plays can be seen in the amateur game and they spend there time grinding down there opponents until they break... every now and then they throw the ball out to the flanks on an overlap and score a try that is pleasing to the eye.
To answer your question, this is a results business and whatever style of play makes us a hard team to beat is what we should be going with.
so what your saying you you'd rather watch boring rugby and get the points than be entertained and take a risk of both, funny how last year we was royally entertain by the Castleford who ripped sides apart playing expansive rugby. I came away disappointed yesterday by still enjoyed the game
The problem with quite a few Wakey fans is,is that because we had a good run when CC took over, then confounded the experts last season, we should now be automatically matching Leeds. Unfortunately Leeds have been doing what Leeds do for a long time and we've been doing what we've been doing for equally as long, it takes time to build that winning mentality,it doesn't just happen overnight like some expect. We had enough half chances in the first half to score possibly 3 tries, one knock on on the second tackle after good broken play, one went down a dead end after Tupou picked up a loose ball and Johnstone's fumble on another loose ball. On another day these three opportunities may have come to fruition.

I stand by what I said about the tackle Pauli did, but that, and the other dubious calls were not the reason Wakefield lost the match. we cocked up in defence big time leading to one Leeds try, and generally we weren't quite smart enough. I take heart that, despite spending the least in SL, we're as good in quality as anything I've seen this season.
