No I didn't do any such thing. I don’t get the relevance of either. He can’t accuse me of wanting it both ways when I didn’t want it either way. I no longer care about the rights and wrongs of what Hudds did. I certainly don’t blame in anyway the current regime for what Pearman did, I don’t even blame Ted for that. The latter was my only point.

But you commented specifically on his, which us why he defended it.
As it happens I agree with you. Its a long time ago and we'll past time to move on.

Bit pedantic but anyway let’s move on.

That’s exactly the point.

I don’t think people seem capable of looking forward at the moment. We’ve just had 12 million pounds invested into our club! Ok it’s all off field but that’s more money than has ever come into this club before and it’s free and it will pay dividends and quite soon imo.

I’ll say it again, £12,000,0000! That's a roll over lottery win.

For heavens sake folks get a grip. Sure the timing has thwarted us a little bit but only three years ago it looked like we’d get zilch. And all apart from the terminally dumb knew that with zilch we had no future.

Now we do. Yet posters on here, even some I know and respect, seem determined to find fault with every tiny issue and blow it out of all proportion.

We the fans are the clubs best salesmen after the team but if potential new fans read these forums you’d think we’d lost the twelve million not gained it.

People need to give their heads a shake, be positive and move forward.

As a side note in Murphy and Hall we’ve probably got the two best twenty year old backs in the completion. But instead we concentrate on losing a modestly promising prop. Sure I'd have preferred we didn't but let's get a sense of proportion shall we. I have a feeling that in five years time the names of Hall and Murphy will be the more famous and with a bit of extra revenue they may still be wearing the RW&B.

That's quite unbelievable isn't it. £12 million invested in Wakefield Trinity.

Yes it is and it's been invested directly into the club, not into the pockets of players and their agents.

I keep using the term free and I do so because it is totally free and I'll keep on banging home that point.

We didn't own NM, Yorkcourt always owned it. We tried to get a stadium on the back of them wanting planning permission. To do that we got the support of WMDC, who sadly messed it all up. Yet it's important to note that Trinity the club never put up a penny toward the project and lost nothing in cash terms other than a few marginal expenses.

The club and its fans were not the victims with NM, the Council or more to the point its ratepayers were the actual victims.

However that's history. What matters now is that we have the 12 million, money we had a very marginal moral or legal right to have as a private company. This would be different if the stadium were to be owned by the Council, but effectively it's actually being owned by as I say a private company which is highly unusual. A master stroke for the club and technically probably the best option, but if I were a non Trinity supporting resident I might think very differently.

Hence we have as a private company being gifted 12 million pounds or there about's to do with as they please in terms of infrastructure. I'd have said that deal was impossible if you asked me four years ago. I'd have said that we were living on borrowed time and that in short order we would soon become another Oldham.

Without whats happening now we would have no future, we'd be out forever. Losing Batch and Aydin would have been totally irrelevant as we'd have lost everything anyway. So if in the end the only thing our club has had to pay for cementing a future is the short term loss of a few good players then I say suck it up as it's worth it.

The minute that East stand opens, if run right, it's a cash cow and will be from day one because we don't owe a penny, we got it for free. I know if someone gave me most of the kit I needed to start a business I don't reckon it would be long before I was doing quite nicely.

Agreed

The poor on field performances of the last few seasons seem to have blurred the minds of some fans.
A huge investment into the club and our 150th anniversary next seasons should be huge grounds for optimism and bring some feel good factor into the club.

Perhaps, when the new stand begins rising out of the ground, there may be some smiles back on faces.

Yes, there's a huge rebuilding job to be done with the squad but, that's nothing new - we've had that for the most part of the last 20+ years

Silly question, but where has the £12 million come from. I’ve not kept up to date with the where’s and who’s.

Back to the Shudds thing. I think the specific animosity between ourselves and Shudds began when Alex Murphy was coach and he brought a team intent on thuggery to Belle Vue in the last game of the season. We won if I remember rightly. The stunts they have pulled or had pulled by the powers that be on their behalf have simply reinforced that friction.

That's nearly 30 years ago and 1 game.
If you were to hold a grudge against every team that came to bully us off the field at some point in the past there would be no one left to play.

I was upset when Geri left the Spice Girls but I've learned to let it go now. I think you need to do the same with this.

The paragraph below from
BELLE VUE DELIVERY PLAN REPORT 13 Jun 2022

The Council has an obligation to, within seven days of receipt of the draft Delivery Plan from the Club to notify the Developer of its receipt and to provide a copy to the Developer which copy may be redacted in respect of information which is confidential to the Club and/or the Contractor. Within seven days of the approval of the Delivery Plan to notify the Developer in writing that the Delivery Plan has been approved by the Council and to request payment of the Belle Vue Contribution. On receipt of the Belle Vue Contribution to pay it into a designated bank account to be used solely for the purpose of funding the Belle Vue Development. To use the Belle Vue Contribution solely for the purpose of contributing to the cost of the Belle Vue Development.
Spirit of 1873 submitted their Delivery Plan for the stadium improvement works to the Council for approval on 01 June 2022, for the purpose of fulfilling their obligation under paragraph 1.2 of Schedule 2 of the S106 Agreement. This Delivery Plan, titled Delivery Report, was a 65 page document (including 4 appendices) which contained (a) Details of the Contractor to be appointed by the Club for the Belle Vue Development (Morgan Sindall); (b) A copy of the Belle Vue Construction Contract (at appendix A); (c) Confirmation of the contract price for the Belle Vue Development (£11,399,016); (d) Confirmation that all necessary funding for the delivery of the Belle Vue Development is in place (£8,800,000 developer contribution; £2,000,000 WMDC Sports Resilience Fund; £1,800,000 finance raised by Spirit 1893 Ltd); and (e) A timetable for the letting of the Belle Vue Construction Contract by the Club to the Contractor, the start date for the commencement of the Belle Vue Development and the build programme for the carrying out and completion of the Belle Vue Development

Our club directors or whoever has raised nearly 2 million towards funding,,probably why we can’t spend much on recruitment
£1,800,000 finance raised by Spirit 1893 Ltd);
