Wouldn't want anything to do with Newmarket or York Court now time to make public all thats gone on with this development and move on. Move to Dewsbury if needs be regather and get looking for a better site better situated in the City of Wakefield and there are plenty of ideal community stadium sites. I know people were saying it was Newmarket or Nothing but look how that's turned out 7 wasted years. Under Carter the club has a lot more friends and connections than we have had previously and although hard in this current climate if we conduct ourselves in the right manner other better opportunities may arise.

I agree with your sentiments BUT, where would the cash come from to fund any community stadium ?
The whole point of Newmarket was to allow the developer to build on land that was previously off limits as long as they delivered a community stadium.
It should have included "the big white box"(or its equivalent) and in turn this should have triggered the stadium build.

The council allowed the white box to be constructed outside the Newmarket site and therefore the developer was let off the hook.

Without the industrial development, there couldn't be any community stadium.

If we had a pile of cash, there would be no problem but, without Yorkcourt (or whoever they are now) we have nothing, unless someone gets lucky on the Euromillions.

I think you will find we do not have friends with deep enough pockets. A move to Dewsbury will see the end of any hope of having our own ground because Belle Vue will be pulled down and redeveloped and we will have no plans for a permanent new home that anyone is willing to fund.
The state of Belle Vue is entirely down to us because we have spent nothing just allowing it to deteriorate over the last three years. If you think Dewsbury is the answer to our short term future please explain why this is the case and what will we do to ensure it is short term.

Dewsbury would only work short term but it could work but only if the long term goal was a new stadium in Wakefield. We may not have any other option short term & Dewsbury would be best if a bad situation. It's only a few metres out of Wakefield easier to get to than Belle Vue for lots of fans take the hospitality boxes with us and it's better than belle Vue. Keep improving on the pitch, lower rent most of our fans would follow us there but only if it was short term.
I don't believe it's York court or nothing, plenty of opportunities if we look in the right areas with the right people

Your last sentence is what concerns me.
I would be quite willing to go to Dewsbury for a couple of season IF there was DEFINITE progress towards our own ground. If it was Dewsbury with status quo - count me out (after nearly 60 years)

I know you won't like to hear this but the only ones to benefit from the move would be the board based on the posts on his Twitter account. A move would remove the boards problems with corporate liability resulting from the responsibility of using Belle Vue because it would pass to Dewsbury.
The reverse is that we will be homeless with little chance of finding a permanent stadium and Belle Vue will be gone forever. Those in charge are only in place to try to improve the club during their tenancy, Wakefield Trinity as been going for over 100 years which should be of greater importance than problems we have brought on ourselves with the state of the ground.
I will of course accept that I could be wrong but moving will only benefit those wanting to see the sale of the ground and all the problem that is Wakefield Trinity.

what about the football stadiums around the area surely they would have better facilities and be more fan friendly? I reckon even say play 4 games next year at each of these - Elland RD, Rothermam,Barnsley,Sheifield.

might even get more people to follow wakey that way.

this stadium thing has been going on since I lived over there in 2001 its a disgrace

What makes you think we will get a stadium sorted?

The fans have been hoodwinked, used & abused by Yorkcourt.

The council have overseen the creation of new employment & have additional business rates, they couldn't give two hoots about the club.

How is sloping off to Dewsbury going to help the cause, we'll be out of sight & out of mind.

The money the club receive from Sky now covers the wage bill, then there's the money through the turnstiles plus the corporate stuff, advertising & merchandise.

How about the owners stumping up some cash to make B.V. fit for purpose instead of bleating "woe is me"

Yeah let's have a go at the guy who has already put a significant amount of money into the club, and taken us from odds on relegation to the brink of top 8 and Wembley, for not stumping up the cash to make Belle Vue fit for purpose when we don't even own the ground yet. It's well documented that he along with Yorkcourt and the council have submitted a bid for the ground and that he's been waiting for ages for a decision. Not sure why you expect him to start throwing money at something he might not even own in a few months or even weeks. Even then are you even aware of how much it would cost to make Belle Vue fit for purpose? Maybe he could afford it (I doubt it) but I think he fancies retiring to a nice villa in Portugal as opposed to a bedsit in Wakefield.

Thinking outside the box for a second, maybe we could focus on doing everything we can to make the people who are legally obliged to build a community stadium in Wakefield, you know, build a community stadium in Wakefield?

As for how will sloping off to Dewsbury help, the RFL have said they will no longer give us dispensation to play at Belle Vue unless there's any progress. This roughly translates to a choice between Super League at Dewsbury/Anywhere else or Championship at Belle Vue. Doesn't take a genius to work out which of those is the better option.
