I'm missing nothing. We have a massive job still to do - and we have a massive influensive power that we need to keep involved and alert. SWAG was formed to influence the politics in Wakefield - and the final say on this will be the politicians - don't forget that!

Sorry but I disagree, the "whole" development is what matters to the "people" that matter. If the development was looking like being refused because of an unpopular aspect, (such as a sports stadium) the plans would be changed, and you would have no say at all. You only have to look at the plans to see how the development has used/benefited from placing the ground where it is to be sited. We are desperate for the ground because of our own reasons but we are a very very small potato, and if you don't believe that you are deluded. As for the poloticians, they would buy and sell their souls for a sniff of winning, so there all either going to be, all for it or risk loosing more votes than they would get, apposing it. Morales and politicians don't go together it's a simple matter of numbers with them. We've done our bit with the petition, and well done to you for that, but now we,re out of the equation.

Letters and Emails to the express and local politicians in support of the development will help and will do no harm

I really don't understand where you are coming from. You are risking a vital element in the overall equation - through complacency.
You have alluded to the overall scheme, yet you seem blinkered to the role of the individual cog within the machine - to the point where I am beginning to think you are being deliberately contrare.

no complacency at all, I just happen to think that we've all played our bit and now it's down to the developers who have a different set of objectives to us, but we have a common intrest. I may be blinkered, like you may be full of your own importance which is why you are always very accusing of others with opposing views to your own.

I have no view of my own importance - I do however have a view of the importance of this project.
At least I now know where your motivation comes from!
