I get where you're coming from mate but to be fair to Fev (on this issue only) they do allow lots of amature finals and other stuff on their ground which does't help the pitch.

Not sure allow is the right word, they get paid. That said the biggest culprit will be be Wakefield FC. A good money spinner but hard work for a pitch that isn’t great to start with.

They must work wonders with the pitch in between games.
Although the can do little with the slope, their pitch looked like a farmers field when we played them a couple of weeks ago.

Once again, their choice. Fev elected to bring in and erect stands around a wholly inadequate pitch. They now have decent stands surrounding a piece of land that is unfit for purpose and always has been. When considering the ground developments, they should have turned the pitch through 90 degrees, levelled it then built around an adult sized pitch.

The same goes for Cas. They have decided to remain at Wheldon Road and that is the correct decision for them but this has to be the opportunity to create a full size pitch that doesn't make the game look ridiculous. They have to flatted their main "stand" so with plenty of space behind, this is their great opportunity to get it right.

In the case of Cas that should be straight forward, as you say they now have the chance to get both the width and length spot on. Also it’s a fairly level pitch.

Fev have a real issue as I think any existing SL club would be well within there rights to complain and thus possibly block their entry to SL. Mainly because imho the slope is dangerous and offers a clear advantage to the home team who know how to handle it.

Levelling it is pretty straight forward although it would clearly ruin the viewing angles from the open terrace unless they dig the slope out rather than fill it in.

I’m less bothered about the size and frankly there is nothing they can do about that now. It really should have been sorted decades ago, for me a flat pitch is a must at any level but at SL it an absolute requirement, it’s a joke otherwise.

Vasty mate you are making the same mistake as lots of others have before you. A few years ago Sean O' Loughlin blamed a Wigan defeat on Tigers small pitch. Powell pointed out the Wigan pitch was 74 Yards wide (the same as The Jungle) but Castlefords pitch was 5 yards longer than Wigans. If you google it you will find Cas and Wakey's pitches are identical in length. Nobody seems to moan about the wigan pitch being short.

In that case you need to get a groundsman that can measure 10 equal lengths of 10 metres/ yards. There can't be more that 3 yards between to 20's & 30's.
A full size pitch is 100 yards posts to posts. Cas is nowhere near that, it's almost square!!
This is a chance to put it right.

Not convinced on that one tbh, but if you say so. All the same the point the FSW made stands, if there are any issues nows the time.
