Stop being over dramatic for heavens sake.
Officials make mistakes many times through the season and some are more influencing than others. There is no issue with fans saying they will start from a nuetral opinion and then form their opinions on this years performances. I am one of those fans and I don’t see why you would call me out as having cheek for keeping my powder dry until the games start to unfold.
If anything it’s understanding that referees develop their knowledge and game as seasons go by and that mistakes will happen. Whatever happened previous seasons in terms of officiating doesn’t matter this season. If the refs have a good consistent performance in 2023 or a sub par one I’ll make my opinion based on that.
For the record I haven’t slated any referee and don’t tend to. I haven’t really seen anyone on here either. They have a tough job and I feel they could do with more support and investment. I’m sure they do their best. Most fans and trinity fans realise this. Doesn’t make it any less frustrating though when a balls ripped and a knock on is called or a try is given with a foot way in touch though. Hopefully that doesn’t happen this season.

Yes, it's definitely the professional, full time referees that need to develop their knowledge! Never understood how they can stand so close to the game yet get it so wrong when and fans can stand 100 yards away with a pint in their hand whilst talking to a few mates and get every decision right! It's so frustrating!
