Banjo String, kindly explain how YOU feel you have been “short changed”.

We as fans are not getting what was proposed and formed a part of the planning application, pretty much the definition of being short changed. We have since been told that what is replacing what was in the original plan is ten times better - but those who have made the claim are very unwilling to actually substantiate what we are actually getting which will be 10 times better

I'm tapping out on this one.
Unless someone else can explain better than me you'll just have to settle for your disappointment.

You've still yet to actually explain what we are getting that is ten times better.

If you ever sat in the old East Stand, going in the rain a wee in the brick block at the rear of the stand getting most of your wee on the shoes, had rain coming over your head between the asbestos roof sheets (not forgetting the famous hole) stumbling on the uneven terrace within the Stand, having your view of the game blocked by the pillars supporting the roof. Now compare this to an elevated panoramic uninterrupted view of the whole playing area, having your wee under cover from seat to pot, and not a drop on your shoes, food kiosks under the stand, and if you want posh, then a new 250 seater Club lounge to pamper your every needs.
Now tell me that isn’t 10 times better than we had.
If you can’t see that, the you are either an idiot or a wind up merchant, I certainly won’t be replying to any more of your posts on this topic, purely because I believe you are beyond reasoning with.

You appear to know about the project therefore how many proposed improvements have been scaled back or removed entirely since the agreed plan of works were published under the we can no longer afford it banner ?

Yes there have been some cutbacks to the “Original Plans “please remember those plans were drawn up Pre Covid.
By the time building work started Post Covid, the cost of Building materials had increased around 30%, which on the original £12 million resulted in approximately £4 million loss of funding, therefore some cutbacks were unavoidable.
I don’t have a list of cutbacks and I’m as disappointed as anyone they happened.
I prefer to look at the positives, we have vastly improved facilities at BV, and L lot of improvements still to make, but I’d rather be where we are now off field than we were just 15 months ago.

Hear hear.
A massive improvement.
It absolutely boils my pi*s that some just moan about anything and everything.
We could have a stadium like Wembley and they'd moan about something!
.........Too big, too far away from the pitch. foods dear and the beers expensive.....

They won't answer you because they full well know that despite what we have being better than what we had, it is absolutely nowhere near as much as what was proposed and agreed in planning. And then some have the audacity to say that the cutbacks are 10 times better than what was proposed is just nonsense

Have been following this debate and seems to me it is absolutely pointless attempting to objectively point out to those who do not want to listen the reasons as to why a situation is as it is.

Quite so, how dare we complain that the club are failing to deliver on the full range of community facilities that they had said they would deliver

We've gone from the promise of a full brand new community stadium, to a full redeveloped community stadium, to a slightly redeveloped community stadium, to a new stand and almost no community facilities.

How dare the community try to hold the club to their promise to deliver for the community...
