He was 18th man, but he hasn't played much rugby recently and WP must have had his reasons for playing Batch and Pittsy. Think both our centres were 'hung out to dry' last night, especially by their team-mates in not assisting in covering across and in this respect the loss of Milky early doors didn't help, as this is something he excels at.
I couldn’t understand why we had Batch at Left centre who has always played right SR or Centre and also Pitts who’s never played centre play there….
Why not put batch right centre where he’s had 2 good games this season and Ashurst who is used to the left in the left or even Jowitt to left centre and Butterworth to full back.
There were what I would consider better options.
We very much lost due to the centres. They weren’t sliding and sometimes jamming in on leaving an option for Leeds to throw ball out for an overlap. Mostly it happened on the right and Murphy exposed to situations he shouldn’t have had to deal with had we defended the plays correctly.
The middles I thought were pretty good in defence.
We just couldn’t get possession in the opening 20 minutes and Leeds had a six again almost every set and a few penalties. Some of which justified and some a bit harsh imo.
Hall and Lyne back and we will look completely different. I expect us to give Toulouse a hiding.
