All they have to do is put a barrier in. It doesn't have to be a wall.
And the padded seats at Old Trafford as an example as I've sat in them, are just seats with an extra piece attached to make it more comfy.
I can only tell you Minards understood this as he mentioned it before so I assume Ellis's team understand too.

The point of the stadium criteria is to improve the experience for all stakeholders.
Stakeholders include but not limited to (as its my interpretation)
fans at the stadium - so facilities to be able to sit and stand under cover in numbers with disabled, food outlets, fan zone, toilets facilities etc
Fans at home - allow broadcasting with big screen etc
Media - area to do their work efficiently, seats with power sockets, area to interview, parking for media vans etc
Directors - area to watch game, separated from fan area for safety and convenience, with access to boardroom type area
Sponsors - same principle as directors. Ability to entertain sponsors comfortably with access to similar areas.

That would not be hard to do in our stadium. I'm certain we could include the flats in that too as there is a clause to explain alternative facilities that meet criteria if built before 2015 like the flats.

I had in my head that they would have to be luxury seating perhaps bespoke in some way. If they can be added as some sort of upgrade using the existing as a base then that’s great. I was purely thinking the padding would be somewhat like a gaming chair style.

I have just googled luxury sporting seats and the padded back with armrests look like they could still use the same supports so hopefully this can be done.

As for the other elements I agree it will be light years better for the media, sponsors and directors. I have no doubt it will push us to an improved score.

I fully expect the new owners will have a plan for the seats and other areas to maximise points too.

I guess I just don’t like waste but if the seats are upgradeable then it shouldn’t be a problem.

Reading the owners latest release about the ground and developments on direction for fans and players that is all really positive. The one area of interest was his mention of the in his words the West Stand obviously it's a terrace with a small amount of cover at the moment. What intrigues me is that he clearly is a successful and wealthy businessman. He also has foresight so is he thinking of some form of development of the western terrace next season in prep for hopefully our return to Super League in 2025.
Fag packet stuff but get rid of those awful containers for starters. Terrace the whole length with better views or if really ambitious along with cover. Future proofing now as costs will no doubt increase again

Matt Ellis has a huge advantage here. Refitting internal areas like the boxes and old clubhouse will be almost free. He has his own workforce and access to almost unlimited materials.

Outside areas are different, but I’m sure he will be able to do backscratching deals work contractors that MC and JM could only dream of.

He probably has a bit to learn about running a RL team, but developing the infrastructure of a business will be second nature.

Happy days

"This will be located in the Rocky Turner suite (old hospitality restaurant)."

What level is this in the flats? the first level?

That players social area is right up Ellis’s street , it’ll get knocked up in no time as that what his company does for a living . Still having to pinch myself about what’s happening at my club , it’s mind boggling that only a fair few months ago the very future of our great club was so uncertain. What a tremendous boost it’s given all us long suffering fans with the appointment of Ellis

The pleasing thing is, he knows this so has built a backroom team to handle that part.

It's looking very promising.

I think exactly the same as you Ketty, keep thinking I am going to wake up from my dream.
Also agree with you Legend regarding MC and JM getting the new stand over the line and much more.

You’ll never get me knocking the past owners , as I’ve said many times ,we would have more than likely been thrown to the wolves years ago . But just shows what financial clout can do ,after years of being hand to mouth ,and robbing Peter to pay Paul , it literally is a dream come true
