But that was previous board money and plans.
It wasn't part of the Stadium upgrade. It was an initiative they agreed with the builders and Wakefield College.

Ellis might have completely different plans for it.

Much like Minards said they wanted to do something on West Side but would have to build budget to do that and it wasn't urgent. He was talking about maybe 2025 but only maybe.
Ellis can do that now if he wants. He's not bound by previous plan.

I think you’re being rather over optimistic. The over spend on the east and north stand was sizeable. I doubt there is any of that money left.

You need to be realistic. Just because that’s what they intended never equated to a guarantee.

The money we had was finite and we simply ran out of it, months ago I should think. Inflation was the killer rather than being anyone’s fault. When material costs double then plans fall apart, no way around that.

It may well be optimistic, but Ellis isn't stupid. He has big plans, reasing his statement from a few weeks ago. He knows how much builds costs. Isn't his factory at South Kirby new.

I think though now, any work that needs to be done, we should just focus on one side at a time, and see it through to its completion, before we do anything on any other side.

Maybe when the final stages of the takeover was going through, the loan for the developmemt was re negiotiated too.

The only thing that may get in the way of west stand developments could be planning permission. I don't think finances will.

Also, to bear in mind on the finance side, he also wants the club to be self sufficient, and season ticket sales have been fantastic, albeit on lower prices. I dont think they'll be this low if we do come straight back up

The initial cash is gone, I think that’s obvious from the cost cutting that was done to complete it.

Luckily Ellis is rich and ambitious and can carry on regardless. So my point is that he probably has grander ideas for that part of the ground.

So I’d speculate that the old club house will get a lick of paint and be used for some temporary purpose until a new plan is in place.

I know the money ran out, and know that costs of materials have spiralled.

I do agree, that the north and west sides are priority. They will generate revenue. There are away fans staying away at the moment due to the facilities on that side. Not sure how many that side would hold, and how many extra we'd get in the north stand if the terracing went all the way back, but say an extra 1000 on the gate, you could be looking at around £250k per year.
and yes, the south is beginning to look tired. If the vision Ellis has of the west stand happens, maybe the boxes will go along the west, freeing room up for something on the south.

I have to say I'd keep the boxes.
It's a good view and he's already started using it for a players area.
It won't take much for a revamp inside to make it look nicer.

North stand development I don't think I'd take higher yet either, though it would be good to do it. I'd make it flat so you can use it for burgers and beers, especially if we do the West.
The cost of taking the terrace back at the same rake would be massive.

Vasty I'm not sure why you are getting at fev to be honest they were left in a same position as us when super league started. They averaged more than us at that time and they were basically cut off from the rest like us and the rest of clubs and left with no hope .fev and many more clubs lost generations of fans.
The fans and people running fev have tried hard to build the club up with 3 stands, done it themselves and done a decent job. They still own their own ground they own the training fields behind and its a traditional rugby ground.
London have been all over the shop, Salford don't play in Salford and its soulless. Hull kr and cas are old type grounds where they are on you and no one as moaned for 100 years.
The front of our ground the stand, the pitch and lights are great but the rest of it is not right cracking.
I don't think.its a competition with others and we as a club have loads to do to put our house in order but hopefully we are in the right track.
I'm also a firm believer that the game needs derby's cas v wakey, fev v cas fev v us it creates interest, it gives teams revenue, it gives fans bragging rights and theirs nothing like a week leading up to a Derby

We are on about the pitch not the club, completely different issue. I respect Fev as a club, and what they have tried to do, but that pitch!

I actually played on it once and it was dire. I know they have levelled it a bit but it still has a fair old slope.
