in fairness to the club. the season doesnt technically finish for anpther week. give them a chance to start the building. although i do think they should have had the plans to have it start immediately at the end of the season knowing we wouldnt have achieved any play off game.

Its been said it will only take a month to complete the works but what about the North terrace? Arent they going to knock that down and build a new terrace for the new stand? or have I got that wrong? Wont that take longer than three weeks? :?:

The bottom line is the sooner we're out of BV (mkI or II) and into NM the better.

Those who were in the emergency meeting in Stanley following the news of the PI thought having to wait 18 months for a conclusion was the end of the world, but yet the lions share of that time is now done and we're into the "business end" of that period now.

For me the CURRENT tone of feeling was set with the publication of the 3 statements last month; from YC, WMDC & LCC.
WMDC and YC made a very good case for the necessity, suitably & special circumstances: all of which seem all the more relevant now with the new national planning framework & economic need for development. While the LCC are clinging to no more than jealousy and a one word defense "GREENBELT".

As I have said all along I believe the LCC are playing a very cunning game. They will fight this application (with no intention of winning, merely to establish terms for their own similar developments).
By putting up a fight whilst wanting to fail the LCC can essentially have their cake and eat it. - They appease their NIMBY's in Methley and can look them in the eye whilst shaking their hands in defeat and saying "We tried our best!", whilst licking their lips at the development opportunities this will throw up on their side of the M62.

YC & the WDCT seem to have all the key players coming together at the right times, this is Sir Rodney's ball park & an area he is truly world class in! Put it this way Richard Wright would love to have a flick through SRW's black book of contacts with regard to stadium development. Whilst he has been very quiet in recent months (& very gracious about the finance fiasco of last year) I expect him to begin to work his magic in coming weeks & months.
This bloke has a hell of a lot of sway in circles most of us will never move in. He will be the biggest asset to us over the off season IMO.

I think we've almost reached the end of the negotiations as far as ecological impacts go. And subject to conditions we should be home and dry. If Natural England and Yorkshire Ecology are satisfied that should be enough for the SoS & his officials to go on.

The ecological impact was a major card for NIMBY groups. Well as I said subject to conditions we should be able to reach a resolution.

Traffic and road capabilities were also a card used & proved to be a sticking point in early Oct 2010, after consultation & subject to conditions we reached a new travel plan- which caused to holding order. So again on this front things look ok/resolved.

The common factor in all of this was the fact that "sticky issues" were overcome subject to conditions- which is the point of the consultation/planning process- A fact I think the NIMBY's misses badly.
Rather than try and get an improved deal they went all out and screamed for nothing. Missing the opportunity to get the best deal possible for them. Call it lack of communication skills, call it lack of foresight- I just think they've missed the best chance they had.

Might be stating the obvious but is it wise to wait until January and potentially the worst of the winter weather before we start any work, just a thought ?

I don't think we have an option.
Some of the work requires planning permission, which as we know can take at least 3 months.
From what we have been told by the club the council look favorably on the temporary improvements & worked hard with the club on this aspect during the franchise application. The WMDC know how important this is to us & how important it was in order to get a license. IMO this application will be as straight forward as you could hope for with the planning system (at present- hence the need for reformation).

The last update said they were working out the final details with SKY, I'm sure as soon as that's done AG will fire off the application & then it's in the public domain & we can track it like Newmarket.

But as I said previously; the sooner we're out the better.

The last I heard is the planning application is in but it will not be validated until the ownership of the land is verified.

Erect temporary stand covers to north and west terraces, permission sought for a period of two years
Ref. No: 11/01848/FUL | Status: Application Invalid

http://m.rlfans.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... #p16468481

That was over two weeks ago now and the planning application still has not been validated.
