Have to say he should have fired into those players a few weeks ago how many of us fans could see that some players were not putting effort in heavens above you see Washbrook and McShane giving it all they have and others not.

On watching the game back for the first time, it was clear to see for me that McShane should not be doing the full 80.
Although i cant fault either him or Washbrook over the season as they have given more than most, both did not move 1 inch in the line prior to Brierley chipping over. They gave him a full 20 yards to run at and decide what to do.
Whether that was a fatigue issue i dont know but they both switched off completely, probably expecting a kick down field.

On a plus note, Tim Smith ran the show in the first half, unfortunately we as a side didn't give him chance to repeat that in the second.

With regards the interview, I'm not going to go overboard with it, but MC said all the right things.
I have had dealings with Ted, Glover, Elston and the current board in the past and i assure you from that list, (imo) MC & CB are certainly the most "straight down the line" blokes.

When Glover & Elston left the building (& Ted/Eric before them) everyone was screaming for transparency & honesty. I believe MC is trying to give that. Whether that is what fans actually want to hear or indeed if it is what should be coming out from the club is another matter. Its a fine line.

Re: Top Interview : Wed May 20, 2015 9:08 am
The only problem i have with the interview is by the chairman publicly saying that some players don't (or at least didn't) care it has caused the whispers about who they are to start and some innocent parties are going to get tarred with that same brush whether he wants them to or not. It creates suspicion and mistrust both inside and outside the dressing room, if someone now has a stinker on sunday was it them etc? And people handle things in different ways. Whose to say that some of those who appeared ok after the hooter didn't go home and kick the hell out of their house? His honesty is refreshing yes but some things are better left within the confines of the dressing room. Now he seems to have blamed the players but sacked the coach, so will anything actually change? Don't see how that is going to get people flooding back through the gates. We may have all had an idea that one or two were not putting it in but don't confirm it in public, it is unlikely to be helpful.

Can we stop the negative banter of MC? He is a straight talking chairman and although I don't know him personally, he appears to be very genuine. He has cleared a lot of outstanding debt and cares about the club. He gave the coach the time to try and get a good team out on the pitch, before deciding enough was enough, for all concerned. We lost twelve games on the trot, due to injuries and latterly lack of motivation it seems. At least MC had the courage to say it as it is!! Let's all unite now and get behind our team with positive vibes.

Re: Top Interview : Wed May 20, 2015 7:30 pm
I am sorry but not once did he blame the coach, it's all the players. The coach does not drop the ball but he does work out a game plan. I got the impression that he did not have the answer on how to turn our season around so maybe put too much reliance on the players to do it for him.
I still think what Carter said was out of order and was probably more to do with him dealing with Webster's departure. He needs to realise that Webster was out of his depth which I think most of the supporters could of told him several weeks ago.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"

If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

Re: Top Interview : Thu May 21, 2015 11:00 am
A lot of people here are writing to suggest Webster was sacked. From what I've read apart from one rushed headline on Sky Sports there is no categorical statement that he was pushed or he jumped. It has been publicly stated that he was considering his position following Sunday and the departure comes across as amicable.

I suspect Webster resigned with maybe Carter giving him a little something to help him on his way. Carter seems upset that Webster had to leave and thinks very highly of him. This leads me to suspect that Webster chose to leave and Carter blames the players.

From my point of view I am glad Webster is not with us anymore because we weren't getting the results or performances whilst he has been in charge. A change was desperately needed somewhere.

Maybe I'm been too pedantic but I don't think we know the full circumstances of his departure. Is it not better to say since "Webster left" as opposed to him being sacked.

The interview with MC on Sky and the comments from Webster suggest he resigned.
I think MC actually said he accepted his resignation though he didn't want to.

And Webster's words were that he resigned because he didn't feel some players wanted to listen to what he had to say any more.
