Hope he goes well for you guys. He was pretty awful for us and a strange signing when we made it. Awful is maybe too strong. Average is probably better. Different environments bring out different things in players so hopefully he'll go well for you, just don't expect anything exciting from him.

He is British born but will still count on the quota as he's non-fed trained.

How can you judge he's barely played for you from what I can see - I don't see how anything can be drawn from his Salford experience TBH. I have no axe to grind as I've never heard of him TBH but he must have had something for you to sign him.

TBH yo've gifted us some stonking players in recent times, MCB, BJB and especially Ashurst so we'll take him.

What else am I supposed to judge him on?

The signing was one that mystified Salford fans when it happened. It was probably to get an extra body into our small squad due to serious injury to Mossop. Turns out, he isn't very good, at least in the time with us that he's played. I'm not one for slagging-off players when they leave as seems to be the norm. Check back on any of my previous posts regarding ex-Salford players. Try MCB here on your own site.

I've got a lot of time for Wakey as I have said for years on here. Just being honest and optimistic for you and him. A change of scenery might bring the best out in him and you'll have yourself a decent player, but then again it might not. Just be prepared for the worst and you can only be pleasantly surprised if it's different.

Pretty much what I'm saying you've nothing to judge him on neither have I. Hence I'm not sure why you bothered tbh. I'm sure your being helpful but in this case there really isn't much for anyone to go on.

Looks a real punt from us but I doubt it's costing much. Enjoy your season by the way you've done well.

Vastman If you re read the original post it talks about how Chris Chester stated England was carrying a injury (not limping due to a stint on the pitch)
You really should read the posts properly before making comments

Daddycool thank you for the update on England
He's clearly giving his all when he's not 100% fit

Fixture list is fairly kind to us at the minute with eight days between the Cas and Widnes games, then a nine day gap to Saints followed by 11-14 days until our first eights game. Should be enough time in between games to keep playing players like Huby and England but you can never have enough props and if Allgood is back at some point then it will be nice to have quite a few to choose from and hopefully not run Huby or England into the ground.

Re: James Hasson : Sat Jul 15, 2017 6:55 pm
There will surely have been input too from two of our senior players who will know him well from playing together for Ireland...that makes me think we might have got a decent one!

How many players over recent times have not performed for Salford but been excellent for us...Casey, Gledhill, Korkidas, Smith, just a few who come straight to mind...then add the ones already mentioned at the club now who are doing great!

He's at a good age for a prop with his best years to come in the not too distant future...signed til the end of the season could well mean he could be playing to impress to earn a contract for next season and beyond...

With the feel good factor around the place and the spirit amongst the players that is always talked about by new players...I think he could be one of the Wakey specials...got the profile to go great for us...hope he does...

Re: James Hasson : Sat Jul 15, 2017 7:29 pm
The press release on Hasson mentions creating competition in the pack because he can also play second row. A lot of footage of him on the site we are not allowed to mention shows him playing at 12 and looking a decent player. I saw him in the 2013 World Cup against England at Huddersfield and he carried the ball well. Finn and Grix will know him well.

Only 25 and he doesn't seem to have been given a chance at Salford. He is a Trinity type player with something to prove and a longer contract to play for.
