If I was short sighted I could become a referee!

They have parking at Salford but it is easier to get out of Wakefield prison . How can you use parking as an excuse for not redeveloping Belle Vue . People find somewhere to park now and would with a refurbished ground. As for the fact we don't own Belle Vue that need not be an issue if a long lease and fair rent can be negotiated. The owners gave previously talked about a retail development on the old superbowl site. This could be more viable with the ground in regular use.

So you are advocating a fortune been spent on a ground that is owned by a private developer who can then change the terms of the agreement whenever it's up for review? No offence but I am glad you are not negotiating on the club/stadium trusts behalf

I would say corrupt rather than incompetent - incompetence implies he doesn't know what he is doing, and he very well does. I hope the club are keeping the RFL informed in the matter as well, if nothing more to say "look at what we're dealing with".

I am suggesting something which is possible rather than a fairy story. Time us running out . Legal battles aren't won over night. They drag on for years whilst lawyers line their pockets. We need a plan that will keep us in superleague. Staying at Belle Vue can achieve that . There doesn't appear to be a plan B. Superleague are not going to sanction a stay at Dewsbury based on a hope winning a battle in the courts. Those of you who think you know best hopefully have an alternative to Newmarket because Newmarket was always a way of Yorkcourt building Newcold and nothing more.

Re: Time to forget Newmarket : Mon Jul 17, 2017 1:24 pm
There is a salient point in what the poster is saying. Should we end up going down the legal route the question has to be asked will it lead to Yorkcourt doing what they should and build the stadium? If we lose obviously not but even if we were successful would they build it? No, would they hell. It would quite possibly result in their liquidation and the likelihood of the remaining undeveloped land being put back into greenbelt. So any other developer taking it on would have to fund a very costly and time consuming planning process for land that has some of the land and potential profit removed thanks to Newcold and possibly Clarks and then the fact that there would be a £10 million stadium sized hole in any potential profits as well. Its just not commercially going to happen, its not worth it. I'd imagine the £2million council contribution will disappear again as well.

Now it would stop a few people getting rich off the land by not carrying out their promises and i like the thought of that but i hope there is hard, irrefutable evidence of wrong doing tucked away in a drawer somewhere and not just the supposition and beliefs we have of foul play as that won't stand up in court and the money will be going down the drain. But ultimately the question has to be asked, how do we end up with a stadium as win or lose sadly it ain't happening at Newmarket.

The owners of BV want £ 7 million for it , as it is . Total and utter non starter. He wants to put houses on it, he paid approx £ 700,000 for it, owner not going to help us, so would be interested where Ball in Hand thinks the money will come from, then say another £ 10 million to rebuild, its utter nonsence to think that BV is an option.

I guess I was being hugely diplomatic, of course I agree with you. And yes, lets hope the RFL are being informed, how on earth they (the RFL or SL) can twist the knife after all that's being done to the club. Lets hope they show some solidarity and help anyway they can.

I really hope that MC and CB can get SL / RFL to allow us to play at Dewsbury and retain our SL place, then we can move out of Wakefield for good. Would allow MC / CB not have to deal with corrupt Box and his equally bent colleagues.

I imagine we'd probably get a years grace regarding out superleague place. After that we might well be in trouble.
