Started by saying council has wrote to the developer to tell them to get their act together (as if they would)
Council will only work with the existing trust and he has notified those that have set up the new one to come on board and join forces
He has met with the new owner of the stadium & MC and the owner has given a commitment that the club can continue to play at Belle Vue in the interim if they can get a plan in place for a new stadium
One new thing he mentioned was that the stadium owner is interested in investing money in a new stadium at least that's how I interpreted what he said - if anyone else could confirm this??
He also confirmed that the council would look at putting funding into a community stadium to the tune of the previous amount offered
He said that in his absence next week his deputy would be involved in further meetings

Thanks

More words, more fudging, no urgency.
This saga makes war and peace look like a flimsy paperback.

As i took it...

He now wants the trusts to join forces rather than just work with the current one.
He is giving the developer chance to readdress the HoT rather than telling them to walk away.
The council contribution will now be 'considered'. Wasn't it back on the table?
The owner of BV would look at 'investing' in the stadium. But being the businessman he is he ain't going to do it out of the goodness of his own heart. What does he want in return?
The owner will let us stay at BV until the stadium is built. Very nice but not knowing when that is doesn't really make that feasible.
Absolutely no timescales mentioned whatsoever.
He's off on holiday and council now breaks for summer recess. His deputy will update on any 'progress' through the website.

Other than that it went quite well.

I once read some Widnes fans saying how Steve O'Connor saved Widnes and invested in getting them back into Super League to get in favour with the council for future property developments. Maybe the council could do something like this with 88M, sort out some development land somewhere for them or make things smoother with Belle Vue in exchange for something towards Newmarket. Of course, that would be subject to actually having a legal agreement which isn't worthless.
