From a personal viewpoint I think that the stains team is the best team that have come down to Belle Vue this season. We could have closed the points difference if we had not lost the ball 3 times on there line, but I still think they would have turned us over.

Sums it up perfectly for me.

I can only think the team instruction was 'don't lose by more than the points difference with Salford', and not 'go out and win it'.

Who's we?

Personally not bothered either way, but I've seen no consensus on here to support your claim at all. - probably is one in hindsight.

Two point, Saints were better than us and deserved the win and I agree we were naive. However they got some lucky bounces they really did, every 50/50 went their way - no complaints it was their lucky day we all have them but it warped the score a bit imho.

Also Saints had nothing to lose, not an excuse just a reality.

Watch the game on Trinity TV and I bet it looks a lot different.

I agree with this, Saints were good but the bounces of the ball did tend to go their way for at least 2 of their try's.

I thought their pack was excellent, I was especially impressed with Luke Thompson I think it was. This allowed their halves and Roby to play and I thought Richardson was very good for them.

I think we were poor 1st half and better in the 2nd half but we were almost trying too hard which lead to errors.

3 changes clearly didn't work. Two of them bombed tries (Reece And Kirmond and so did Williams as well). Grix had a poor game but clearly knew to dive low for the line for his try. Both Kirmond and Williams had same and tried to walk over.

That's a good point, they had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
We suffered from stage fright, it happens ... slightly naive but something we will hopefully
learn from.

In 2nd half I also recall a chance Fifita had that went begging.

Running onto thw ball at pace near the line. Had he have caught it dont think he would have been stopped so close to the line.

What really peed me off about that was LMS had moved forward a good metre right behind Child's back and we should've had a penalty.
