You get the feeling that we will either be 50 points in the wrong direction or, grind out a narrow win
If we have the same calamities that we did against Shudds, Leeds will destroy us but, IF there is the positive reaction that you would expect, then, maybe it wont be a walkover.
Dropping MCB (assuming that he's not injured) has taken away our most potent attacking threat.
There is nobody in the Leeds team (or any other) that will stop him if he gets in space.

Yep you feel it could be a 1 point Trinity win or a 40 points Leeds win.

The Bookies think Leeds by 10.

Its a great feeling not having to worry about the effects of a loss against say a very good Hull KR or London in the middle 8`s. Thank goodness we are concerning ourselves with how our budget team of triers will fair against one of the form sides in the competition

So they are just a team of budget triers now are they - just for once belly give it a rest and stop letting the players off the hook.

A few weeks ago you were singing them to the heavens, show some integrity.

There is no reason why this squad shouldn't win a fair few games in the 8's they are more than good enough and you know it.

The problems deeper than that. We have produced a series of decent teams since 2004 yet everyone has bottled it. The last team that didn't was the 2004 team. I'd never bet against us in a relegation decider but to win a competitive prize winning game I wouldn't risk 50p.

Of course it's partly down to the players but there is also something wrong with the fabric of the club IMHO. Whatever it is it's deeper than the individual.

In all my time only McNally has managed to unlock the potential and that was only for one season. He's vilified now but maybe he spotted the real problem and was hounded out for his troubles, makes you wonder.

Why don't you read his post properly before trying to be controversial, he did not call them a team of budget triers, what he called them was a budget team of triers which is what they are as well you know, a team put together on a tight budget and well under the salary cap.
I'm sure he knows full well what they're capable of, all he is guilty of is comparing not being under the pressure of fighting for our lives in the m8s and wondering how we'll compare against a form team, show some integrity Jesus

We do have some good players Vasty, but you have to admit that pre season many if not all experienced professional pundits had us down to finish 11th or 12th, there are reasons for professional pundits coming to that conclusion, mainly they compared squads and we looked the weakest on paper. What our team has achieved in finishing fifth is brilliant, I am not sure what you mean by me needing to show some integrity : I also felt that our squad would finish 11th or 12th I have praised them for totally blowing that prediction out of the water. They are the lowest cost squad in the division and I for one will not be slagging them off like you for what they have achieved. It has been a fantastic season so far. They may well lose all 7 super 8 matches , they may win a few who knows. I am not sure I agree with you re the fabric of the club, I do think that we do need a strong leader on the pitch and I dont think Kirmond is the man to provide that, he seems to be a good leader off the field, I am not sure if we have an on field leader in the squad, maybe our new Aussie is the man. Relax a bit Vasty and enjoy the 8`s , if we win a game great.

I agree about the leadership Belly.
I like Kirmond but we need someone of the next level.

You make some good, valid points, although someone like you who's not shy in coming forward with your opinions, i'm surprised you haven't given your own personal reasons as to why we normally bottle it as you put it??! To say it's within the fabric of the club is a bit vague and ambiguous is it not?! 2004 was quite some time ago now, not sure anyone would be left from around that time, although I don't know for sure. Much as it was very poor against Hudds, it's only the first game, we may just win a few you never know, i'm certainly not writing them off just yet. It would be interesting to hear what people would consider to be a 'successful' season then? Considering we've acquired more points than last season already, and kind of like the point I think belly was making, it's only 2 years ago we were staring into the abyss......
