Yeah but that was Brian Smith I think, don't think the current coaches have any interest.

No offence meant to Leigh but I wouldn't take any of the Leigh team.
Where they are strong so are we so no need to recruit.

We have a good enough squad now that we either recruit a top player or a young kid with potential
We are no longer in that market and shopping at basement clubs is also expensive because the player you want is their marquee. We are better getting a young fringe player from Sts or Leeds

I think Finn will have another season, 2 could be pushing it. However hes a consistent performer and I think he will be missed. Other clubs with the exception of Cas this season seem to have halves that play out of their skin one week and then struggle for a couple of outings. In truth Finn fits like a glove in to the style of rugby we play probably because hes at the centre of most of it.

gotta remember Leigh walked the championship 3 seasons on the trot, losses were few and far between.
its easy to see why they came up full of their own bs and without realistic expectations, even the moderates were certain the worst they could do was finish in the 8s.
Whatever happens, this season will stand them in good stead if they make the return in 2019, they will be better prepared after the experience 2017.

I get the lost revenue angle but I couldn't stand the obnoxious attitude of the majority of their posters that came on here, good riddance from me.

Although I agree with others re Hampshire taking short of expectations so far but a basement player?! That also applies to a few others tbh.

I mention Hampshire purely because he is a HB which apparently is what we are after.

EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN

Re: How the "mighty" have fallen : Sun Oct 01, 2017 11:34 am
The mix of the Leigh team is all wrong. Young backs and forwards who are all at the back end of their careers. They looked worn out, which cost them the game. Many of the Catalan players are at more of a peak. Young backs are good provided some old heads guide. Old forwards are good provided there is some young grunt too, to win the energy battle. With Leigh, it was a battered old pack and inexperienced backs. All wrong.
