Yeah stayed there last year during a little euro trip, right on bus route to/from airport and 5 mins walk from la castillete.
We usually stay in canet when we go to Catalan Friday-Monday but can't afford the time, flights car hire and hotel usually cost around the £175ea so I find the one world travel a bit steep plus I've been to Loretta once and that was 1 time too many

You can get a train to Stansted Airport from Wakefield, just change at Peterborough. If you book early enough might be cheaper than fuel and car parking. It'll certainly be quicker than driving along the A14 and M11 (The A14 has major roadworks on it until December 2020) Plus, it's cheaoer to fly to Barcelona and then get the train to Perpignan.

A14 at 8pm on Friday evening won't be an issue, I'm wanting to have a few drinks when in perpignan so driving isn't on the cards, and there isn't any available flights Saturday/Sunday from either girona or Barcelona, that would allow me to see the game. In the pat I have flown to Barcelona, Montpellier, carcasonne and Toulouse for around £70ea return but this isn't Friday-Monday and I just can't get those days off this year.
